In particular case I made ONE comment a couple weeks ago in a rock band forum stating that i don't get why someone would spend so much time mastering a music genre game when he/she could easily pick up a real guitar. Of course a few people got upset, I didn't react but tried to smooth over the issue (ha i was completely not expecting people to get up in arms about it, silly me).
Fast forward to, a couple weeks later I make another paragraph long comment in a guitar hero/rockband type forum that was 100% on topic. at the end of the comment I wrote one sentence about "how i would probably rather go to kareoke than play guitar hero" {just ONE SENTENCE lol} and some guy with like 31,000 posts takes offense and begins to complain about the comment. calls me a troll because of the comment from 2 weeks before.
Long story short I tell him how i find it odd that he would zero in on one sentence out of 7 or 8 and that unless he's gonna comment on the meat of my post then "stfu". I get banned, he didn't and it just smells foul.
so was i banned because i dared challenge a 'charted member"? or was it the stfu that is commonplace on the internet. Or was it because i let the world know that I don't get guitar hero players? The way i see it i was minding my own business and some guy picked a fight with me. and because I'm new i get banned and he doesn't. It doesn't quite seem fair guys. I like the site and all but, man, this type of stuff should not happen.
The fact is I'm not a troll I started coming to this site because i needed some help with madden. when i got here i realized that there was a community of folks that had the same issues and were trying to do something about it. that's kind of cool. In a situation like this one i don't get why it wasn't enough just to delete the posts and police the situation rather than dropping an atom bomb and nuking the joint.
