a note on the zero tolerance policy

what up OS. Every now and then I read the TOS for the forums and I'm a little taken aback by the zero tolerance policy that is put in place. If you go to the profiles of a few mods on the sites you'll see multiple people requesting information as to why they have been banned and so forth. I've recently felt the wrath of the admin hammer and the only information I was give was "TOS infraction, under 200 posts, banned lifted:NEVER". Numerous emails have been sent, as requested by this sites TOS, and none of them have been replied to.

In particular case I made ONE comment a couple weeks ago in a rock band forum stating that i don't get why someone would spend so much time mastering a music genre game when he/she could easily pick up a real guitar. Of course a few people got upset, I didn't react but tried to smooth over the issue (ha i was completely not expecting people to get up in arms about it, silly me).

Fast forward to, a couple weeks later I make another paragraph long comment in a guitar hero/rockband type forum that was 100% on topic. at the end of the comment I wrote one sentence about "how i would probably rather go to kareoke than play guitar hero" {just ONE SENTENCE lol} and some guy with like 31,000 posts takes offense and begins to complain about the comment. calls me a troll because of the comment from 2 weeks before.

Long story short I tell him how i find it odd that he would zero in on one sentence out of 7 or 8 and that unless he's gonna comment on the meat of my post then "stfu". I get banned, he didn't and it just smells foul.

so was i banned because i dared challenge a 'charted member"? or was it the stfu that is commonplace on the internet. Or was it because i let the world know that I don't get guitar hero players? The way i see it i was minding my own business and some guy picked a fight with me. and because I'm new i get banned and he doesn't. It doesn't quite seem fair guys. I like the site and all but, man, this type of stuff should not happen.

The fact is I'm not a troll I started coming to this site because i needed some help with madden. when i got here i realized that there was a community of folks that had the same issues and were trying to do something about it. that's kind of cool. In a situation like this one i don't get why it wasn't enough just to delete the posts and police the situation rather than dropping an atom bomb and nuking the joint.

Re: a note on the zero tolerance policy

You said it yourself. 2 weeks ago you made comments about the game - FF till now and you made another comment about the game.

If you have such an issue about the game why are you going to that part of OS?

You don't like the genre of game but others, many others, love the games.
And I know a few talented guitar players that still play the GAME also. Because it's a GAME.

So bottom line is you made it clear you don't like those games but instead of speaking your peace and moving on...you go back to that game area and post again.
    Why?

The reason I love OS is they have such a low tolerence for things like this and hopefully will continue to be as diligent in keeping OS a great place to come to.

So you told him to stfu?

That may be "commonplace on the internet", but it is not on OS. I'm glad the mod staff is enforcing this kind of stuff.
