    "Front Page" threads

Can we get rid of the labeling? Or at least the red titles and big logo on the side? It just looks unnecessary IMO.

I've noticed you guys have been tinkering with the look of it the last few days. I didn't like the mini OS logo beside the thread creator's name either, but I'd prefer that over the red titles and logo if this is something that has to stay.

    Just a suggestion.

Proof that this is a major problem that needs fixing.

I absolutely agree. It's usually not too hard to tell what threads are front page anyway because the title is usually formatted differently than the other ones. Why does it matter if we know what's on the front page anyways?

I concur with the blue and gold one from the great white north.

I think I'd have less of a problem with it if the selected color wasn't burgundy. Burgundy isn't one of OS' colors, and it uglies up the forums as-is, IMO.

              Re: "Front Page" threads

I'll be honest, I enjoy avoiding those threads now. The red titles pull my attention away from reading the other thread titles, and that's what the goal of this seems to be (to grab people's attention). But it has the opposite effect on me, I avoid the homepage threads now because I'd rather just scroll through the topics regularly without getting distracted every two seconds. I'm sure some aren't effected by it, but my eyes are pulled to it, and in turn it makes me dislike those threads.

While you guys are tinkering, I'd like all of the threads I create to be in bright yellow. Also if you could prevent people from scrolling past my posts until they check a box that says "I have read and completely agree with and support the above post by rspencer86."

                Thanks.

I don't mind the styling, but would like them to also keep some kind of 'you posted in this thread' icon.

There is. The black circle on the folder icons on the left are the ones you've posted in.

                    And @ this:

Whenever I post in a thread, I get a black dot on the folder icon for that thread like this:

He's saying he can't tell if he posted in a "front page" thread because the OS logo is always there instead of the folder with a black dot.

                              Re: "Front Page" threads

I do find it slightly distracting. Also, replacing the folder with the OS logo in the front page thread takes away from the aesthetics of the site. Couldn't the OS logo be placed in the second column (the gray colum between the column with the folders and the column with the thread title and stuff, instead? That would at least make it look neater. Also perhaps change the color of the front page threads from burgundy to something a little less contrasting such as dark green. This would probably improve the aesthetics of the site and make it less distracting to people who find it as such.
