How does one go from 5 stars to 3 with one rate?

Just out of curiosity, how does one go from a 5 to a 3 in one rate? I'm assuming it's because someone gave me a 1, and if that's the case, why? I don't think I've ticked anyone off around here. I'm a pretty peaceful guy.

Not a big deal. Mostly just curious.

It's a non-weighted average.

So, yes ... you had one vote of 5 to start you off, then someone else voted you a 1, averaging to a 2.5 that gets rounded up.

Something you said pissed someone off ... but you may have been in the right. Asshats' votes count as much as anyone else's.

I still wish we could see how many 5's, 4's, 3's, etc. we've received but bdoughty told me you guys would have to actually count them yourselves so forget that idea.

This is funny. When I wrote that, I had 3 rates (two of which were 5s since I was a 5 average on my first two rates). I asked because my 3rd rate must have been really low. Now, I have 9 rates, so some people must have come to my defense. Whoever those people were, Thanks

I was concerned about the software working correctly, so I gave you a 1 to see if it effected your rating. It did not, so it's all good...
