    One more thing...

I have seen people say that this site is popular and cite hit totals.

If the site is so popular, then why are there the lame popup ads? If the site is so popular, how come the owners can't find real advertisers to promote something relevent? Other sites have links from video game companies or accessory manufacturers. Why aren't these companies interested in OS?

Perhaps because OS does not present a professional image in any way, shape or form.

Don't get me wrong, I don't give a crap either way. Just like the mods can attack posters all they want. It's your site, and if this is the only place in your life where you have "power" over people, and you decide to use this "power" to mess with people and insult them, fine, do it.

But there is a reason why there are lame popup ads. It's because people don't donate.

An intelligent person would ask themselves "why?" Sure, some of the kids don't have money to donate. But there are lots of adults who do.

I mean, maybe it's the business undergrad speaking, but one of the basic tenets of any sort of business venture is customer service. I am doing fine monetarily, I have money to donate. Why would I? People come here, and the friggin MODS insult them. It's not only the 14 year old kids, it's the *MODS*, the people who run the site.

Think about it. Say you go to McDonalds and order a cheeseburger. The person behind the counter looks at you and calls you a dickhead. The manager comes up, looks at you, and says "yup, you are a dickhead." Are you going to come back? Hell, are you even going to buy the cheeseburger?

It's common sense. It's good business.

The mods don't treat people well. When you complain about it, they mock you. You don't make money by mocking and insulting your customers.

I mean, do what you want. The layout of the site is good, the boards are popular. The site has potential. Perhaps if the mods spent more time cultivating content and less time harrassing people on messageboards, the site would actually be successful.

Look man, this is pretty much a free public message board. We don't have to pay for video content, interviews, or impressions hands on here. Why are you going through the trouble of doing this? This isn't a pay site man. Donations are welcomed as they should be, but it is what it is, and it's a free site no matter how you slice it. There have been some good things happen here that sites like IGN and gamespot charge for. If you want to do something about it, buy the site from Steve, pick your own mods, and run it like you want it to be, other than that, making these post with no real solution just makes you part of the problem.
