    New Avatar Policy

I hinted at a new Avatar Policy last week. I expect it's not going to be too popular, but it's been a long time in coming. We have an escalating "babe" war that is ongoing, and it is tiresome. This is a sports gaming board, not a babes gallery. We've tried to request a degree of common sense, but that appeal has failed. So we need a new approach.

This policy will start later this week. I wanted to give some lead time for people to change their avatars.

When it goes info effect, all users will be forced to use one of our Stock Avatars. We have logos for most college and pro teams, plus a number of others. If should be enough to cover the needs of a sports gaming board.

On the date of the change, you will no longer be able to enter a link for your Avatar - you will only have the Stock Avatars to choose from. Any that are not stock will be deleted on that date.

Please take the time to look over the Stock Avatars. If there's something we're mising that you need, let us know. If it's a reasonable request, we will add it to the collection. Just post it here, and we'll let you know.

Donators (and staff) will have the option of linking to a custom avatar (still subject to the curent TOS). Donators will need to contact an Admin through PM to have their Avatar changed.

I'll let you know when this is going into effect. Probably Wednesday.

    Re: New Avatar Policy

I like the idea of doing away with all the questionable babe avatars but is there not a way we can find a medium in all of this? Or a way that we have to send a PM to Steve of what we want in our avatar before it actually gets displayed? I just feel that for being a few people that have "babe" avatars that we all must suffer. Obviously, I respect your decision, and its cool, but I would like to see if we could find a medium in all of this?

not sure if it's possible, but could you have a pulldown menu with the names of the avatars? Having to click the ">>" link to go through all the College teams is kinda tedius.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
