    Going public...

A mod in one of the threads on the Everythin Else board mentioned, as most know, that this is a privately funded site with donations and banners and pop ups.

Is it a possibility to turn it into a business of sorts without the signup fee and all that mumbo jumbo.

I'm sure it's possible, but I honestly don't want to turn this place into that if I don't have to.

What do you mean turn this place into "that"???

Do you guys still do the 5% from Ebgames.com thing? If yes I think it should be pushed a little bit more.

            Re: Going public...

Because I like running the site the way it is now. If I made it into a business, I'd have to get a business liscense and all this other mess for tax purposes and I only wanted to run this site for sports gaming fans, not to make money off of it. However, if the right price comes along, everyone can call me a sellout.

in order to make money a site has to kinda turn into gamespot or IGN, and that's not Steve's current vision for OS from what I gather...Ads and the EB stuff probably don't get that much money for OS, what makes money would be a subscription service.

Yes, the EB games banner is on the Main Page, but nobody uses it. I'd rather people buy some OS tshirts if anything. That will be free promotion and we get $3 per tshirt sold. Anyone that has purchased one will tell you, they kick much [censored].
