    Read/Unread Topics

I'm going to try and make this seem as clear as possible because I think it is tough to explain and hopefully someone can give me an answer.

Since you guys switched to the new forums, everytime I come back to the forums it says that I have read every forum. For example, say I never visit "Pro Basketball" but when I come back to the forums... it says that everything in there has been read. On the old version, if I hadn't been to that board, it said that I hadn't.

I ask about this because sometimes I only go to some forums, while other times I go to all of them. However, I am not sure what I have and have not read. Does this make sense?

Is there any time frame of when this is going change... if ever? Thanks in advance.

Same here. It seems like whenever I leave out and come back to the forums, everything has been read. Also, it does'nt send me to the very first unread post. It skips post I did'nt read when I was gone and takes me to the newest post from my return. Another problem seems to be that when I leave a forum, it stays unread instead of switiching to read(gray OS box) status. I've been tryna get accustomed to the new format, its just confusing and overwhelming thus far.

This is a difference in the way the vBulletin handles things. I'm not 100% sold in it, either. basically, it will mark the forums read after 15 minutes of inactivity - this is also when it deals with all the read/not read status of the forums.

vBulletin is looking at an implementation of what we had under UBB (called a "persistent read system") in a future release. It is difficult to implement without seeing the same performance issues that caused us to leave UBB.

So when I read a topic but come out of the forums, but it still shows as "read" is there any solution to this problem?
