    Web site design

    Hi,

I am about to start a new site, (I used to run NBA ID zone back in the day, before Microsoft decided to cancel it ) but anyways, I was wondering if you guys had any reccomendations for web-site design people/companies. My sites were usually all right, but I def. could use some one who has some skill to do this one for me. I would like to keep it under $100, anything less is great.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

you will not be able to put up more than one page for only 100 bucks. your best bet is to find volunteers, and try to work with the time knowing that they will be doing this for free.

Or you can learn how to do it and set it up yourself. All it costs you is time, but very little money up front. You also have to figure out what exactly do you want your site to provide. Will it require work other than just html and images? etc....

        Thanks

I have created (or tried to ) several pages, and have even taken classes. I just dont have that artistic side to me, and I just dont unserstand enough about it. I can do it, but what takes another person 30 minutes takes me 8 hours.

As for the site, it will just be a fan site, so I want it to have a banner and maybe a logo, but other than that I will just have news on the main page, and a link to our forums. I will have some other pages maybe later on like a contact us or about us, etc...

yeah but you are still missing a few points. Lets say you get a designer to help you biuld the site. Well will the site be dynamic? meaning, will you have a little administration section so you can update content and news? if so then you will probably need some programming done, including some sort of database to hold the data. There is alot that goes even into the smallest of web sites.

In any case, get a few guys who are willing to help you for free, with no strings attached. There are many out there who do it just to showcase their skills, etc and because its fun when its not "work".

I've also taken a class my senior year in high school. We used a program called Dreamweaver. It's real easy and fun to use, I suggest that you should try it out. Email me if you want it at [email protected]

once you start learning some of this stuff it'll make you realize how much work went into making the main site so good...it's all the dynamic stuff that really complicates things. You move beyond just html and head into php, asp.net, or some other web programming language.
