OS Push Notifications

A couple of months ago my push notifications stopped working on the OS app. Once I open the app, I can see that have messages, unread threads, I can see if someone has quoted me and everything but I get no alert to my phone. Can anyone help me correct this issue?? I have a galaxy S9 and all my notifications are turned on. I have cleared cache and data and reinstalled app several times. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think it's an issue on your end. I haven't gotten them in awhile either.

Thanks for the response. I hope it gets worked out because I always feel out of the loop and I hate responding to people 15 hours later when they ask me a question because I didn't get notified that they asked me something lol.

Ya, that app was created for us, specifically by TapaTalk.

I thought it was just me. I sent a note to Tapatalk, hope to hear back soon.

For those of you having the issue, are you on iOS or Android?

Android...but I know a few people that have androids and still get the notifications. I don't know what the problem might be.

Here's the official response from TapaTalk.

About not receiving push notifications. This was due to Apple and Google's App guideline update, we are no longer authorized to send push notifications to third party-branded Apps.

We hope in time, they will change their policy that would allow us to support push notification on branded App again. But as of now, no push notification can be delivered to all branded Apps.

They are pushing an update for our app on the Apple and Google Store. It should already be there for Android users, but in a few days for iOS.

Here's the official response from TapaTalk.

Ok cool, thanks for the response it's greatly appreciated...im still confused on other people that still receive the push notifications but I'll hold on hope that we can get those back soon!!

I would assume they are on an older version of the app and it probably won't work for much longer.

The notification restriction is for both iOS and Android users. It affects only the branded Apps of the individual forums, not the official Tapatalk Free App.

The new Android Branded App is already published in the Google play store. It's available for users to download now.

The iOS Branded App takes a bit more time to build and Apple's review process is longer than Google's review. We should be able to provide you with an update on the progress of your IOS App update in the next few days.

Changes in your new branded Apps (iOS and Android) are mainly just on performance improvements and bug fixings.

Update on my current situation: I just started back using the tapatalk app and joined the Operation Sports group and now I get all of my notifications from tapatalk. I'm good to go now but I still hope OS can get that agreement changed so they can start back sending push notifications.
