Will OS ever rid itself of the pop ups?

Just wondering, this is the only site I receive them on the internet...I use Firefox...is there a way to get rid of these things...I've tried adblock but I have no clue what I'm doing!

i use firefox and i never get the pop-up ads with adblock. (sorry, steve, but i hate those things.)

try blocking this URL with adblock.

they dont bother me that much...but the ad with the brad pitt and the photo sound makes me want to shoot myself.... that thing is crazy....please take that damn sound off... it makes me just want to leave the site every time it comes up

I've been using this guy's filter set for AdBlock. It's constantly getting updated either to block new ads or fix things that shouldn't be getting blocked.

Unfortunately ..... no.

Servers cost money. Bandwidth costs money. Software costs money.

We were very locky that UGO offered to host our forums, and provide a reliable server and bandwidth for OS.

In exchange, we let them run ads. We don't have control over the ads on the forums, and get just as annoyed as y'all by some of them.

I've never, ever got a pop up at OS. I'm using Norton Internet Security.

Nope, it needs money to stay free... donations alone aren't enough to keep this site going.

Sure, we can get rid of them, but we'd have to go the "IGN Insider" route and that is not something I'm looking to do.
