Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?
Blackburn.
With about 12 games to go, Im 2nd in the 2nd division and have just made it through to the quarters of the FA Cup.
Bought Andy Carroll for 20 mil. He scored 22 goals in about 26 games, and I managed to sell him for about 50 million.
Unfortunately I blew 10 mil of that on Adebayor and he has yet to score in 10 games.Comment

Do you have a league preference, do you want to build a team, play with an all star team?Comment

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?
No I do not have a league preference. I kind of want to build a team. It just depends on which team. I might want to play with a all star team but again it just depends on what team.Comment

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?
If you want to build and toy around without a challenge I would suggest PSG. Weaker league, slightly older team, but massive budget and a couple good young studs.
All star teams Real Madrid, Barca or Man City.Comment

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?
I just sold my 23 year old 89 OVL CAM Carlos Suarez (player I scouted and brought up as a 16 year old) to Real madrid for $103 Million!
I hated to see him go but through the youth scouting, I have build just an insane pipeline of young super high potential players and with in 2 or 3 years they are 77 OVLs and they will come in anywhere between a 68-72.. I play them in as many low priority matches as I can or loan them out. Once they hit a 75 or so I try to get them regular play.
I love building a team like this. It takes some time but it pays off big time. And when I sell players, the hit isn't as big.
I'll post all of my players later tonight when i get home.Beavers|Red Sox|Buccaneers|NBA HoopsComment

Vincenzo di Stefano - Manager, Genoa CFC (Serie A)
Finally making an effort to get my resurrected Genoa CM off the ground on the PS4. Unfortunately, a few talented players left the squad in the January window IRL, so I'll have to change it up from what I had going on PS3 (but that's good in a way). But my manager, Vincenzo di Stefano, still looks like a slightly heavier Pep Guardiola so that's comforting. Seriously, why can't see our appearance in the setup menus?
Genoa starts with a very healthy €19M budget, so I bought a 4* Italian youth scout and two 3* GTN scouts (fired the 1-2* defaults). We still have around €12M in the bank for January with my main target being a striker to pair with Gilardino. I want to run an aggressive 3-5-2 and don't quite have the personnel for it, namely another forward who isn't crap, and CB depth & quality. Everywhere else I can manage for a season, but I'll be on the lookout in January for those two areas. It doesn't help that my best CB, Nicolas Burdisso, went down for two months with a torn quad in training before my first game.
As for the games, my first was in the Coppa Nazionale hosting Serie B side Pescara. We really took it to them, finishing with over 20 shots in a comfortable 3-1 win. The Serie A campaign started ominously, with Inter Milan at the San Siro and Fiorentina at home. A defensive approach nearly earned a point in Milan, with the only goal coming from the penalty spot after a handball during a scramble; two starters (Gilardino & De Maio) were injured in the match and set to miss three weeks. di Stefano foolishly sought to play with La Viola despite an undermanned XI, and Fiorentina bossed possession throughout the first half but could not break through. An early second half goal opened the floodgates, leading to a 3-0 home defeat to close a run of three matches in 10 days to start the season.
Heading into an international break, Genoa sits at the bottom of the Serie A table with no points and -4 goal difference. Only Fetfazidis is away on international duty and Gilardino looks set to return for the Derby della Lanterna with Sampdoria on 15 Sept. A win over the local rival would go a long way to restoring some of the optimism that surrounded the club coming out of a successful preseason.
EDIT: I forgot to add my objectives are to finish mid-table (6-14th it appears), which should be easy enough, and reach the round of 16 in the domestic cup. The win over Pescara put us in the last 32, so a win over Torino in the next round will accomplish the objective. I'm planning on going all out for the cup in hopes of squeezing some additional funds out of the board by raising my objective (if it applies to cup goals). Has anyone had any luck with this in 14?Last edited by Qb; 02-26-2014, 02:36 PM.Comment

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?
Scratched the NL2 with Portsmouth and just started one with Newcastle. I used a financial takeover so I got some extra cash. I bought 3 scouts to start off as I will be using a youth system to build up Newcastle. Here's my first transfer window
In
Mid Oliver Torres (loan, 7 million future fee from Atletico Madrid)
Fw Luis Suarez (35.5 million from Liverpool)
Mid Paul Pogba (12.5 million + Tiote from Juventus)
Fw Christian Benteke (10.5 million + Cisse from Aston Villa)
Def Raphael Varane (14.5 million from Real Madrid)
Mid Mateo Kovacic (9.5 million from Inter)
Fw Zakaria Bakkali (loan, 5.5 million future fee from PSV)
Def Luke Shaw (3 million + Ryan Taylor from Southampton)
Out
Fw Papiss Demba Cisse (see above)
Mid Cheick Tiote (see above)
Def Ryan Taylor (see above)
Def Massadio Haidara (loan to Preston North End)
Fw Sammy Ameobi (loan to QPR)
Mid Gael Bigirimana (loan to Wolves)
GK Jak Alnwik (loan to Dag & Red)
Didn't really get the cash I was looking for most players so I kept them in case I get offered more during the winter transfer window. I'll be starting some house rules starting next season, summer transfers can't be more than 30 million combined and winter 20 million. Will be trying to limit spending, should have a good team with the players I brought in.
Here are the results thus far
League
Newcastle 4-0 Man City (shocking result, 4 goals in the 1st half as all the breaks went my way. City never got close of a comeback)
West Ham 1-2 Newcastle (West Ham took the lead early, tied it at half and a Suarez fk goal got me the win int he 2nd half. Stole this game.)
Newcastle 2-0 Fulham (got an early goal and then Fulham took over, miss after miss they couldn't score. Got a 2nd late in the 2nd half to seal the win)
Capital One Cup
Newcastle 2-0 Mansfield (controlled the game, used a bunch of backups and played without the internationals: Varane, Debuchy, Ben Arfa, Pogba, Remy, Krul, Benteke, and Suarez. De Jong got one early in the first and Oliver Torres added a 2nd)
Utilizing a 4-2-3-1, which was their default. So far so good, hopefully this run continues. Also placed them in the Europa League as it makes the 1st year interesting with a bunch of games. A bunch.
Playing Legendary, 10 min, Manual
Newcastle only gives you 20 mil or soComment

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?
Play Professional, 10 Minute Halves.
Started a Sunderland CM but realized I didn't know what I was doing so I started a Newcastle CM. Loving it.
Now that I have a better understand of transfers and youth squad I am now doing much better. I am 4th in the table after about 6 games. I brought in a few players from other teams and I am also building up my youth squad. So it's been really good.
They (the board) have asked me to quality for the champions cup and to make the Round of 16 in the league cup. So, I am hoping to do both.
In addition, now since I understand the game, now I know I need better defenders. I have about 1 or 2 good players on the backline but we are getting outrun by speedy forwards. So, I am going to work hard to bring in a good Center Back to cut out chances close in.
My offense is getting much better and the midfield plays really good at times.
I just beat Manchester United (2-1) in the Capital One Cup first game, and after that beat Everton (1-0).
Once I get feedback from you good people on the forums on how to proceed regarding resting my players, I will make some decisions about the next game. I am thinking about resting a few key starters but don't really know what to do or the best way to go about doing that. I posted a question about it in the forums.
To answer the resting players question, rest your top players on the domestic cups and don't be afraid to sub all your 3 players in a game.
Most of the time i will sub my forwards more often because i have fewer of them the my middle or defense. But really once you see them on light green or yellow give them a rest. Especially when you can play your youb=ng guys for experience.
Second Newcastle does need faster CB and a real good forward.
But dont forget to use your youth academyComment

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?
Blackburn rovers user I'm in like the 2019 season and I'm at a heartbreaking point. My very first high profile scouting target an American Cm named aj Barret who while slow is a wizard with the ball and has developed into a good finisher, says he's home sick and wants out. His replacement potentially also says he is gone after his contract and my new striker I signed be for the season somehow ended up resigned with his old team. All of this happening s after I lose the cup on the last game on a 90 min goal to tie against man city that allowed man u to jump both of us smh.Comment

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?
Just finished my first season with Munchen 1860 (2. Bundesliga).
I was hoping for promotion, but the first part of the season was just dreadful. I was 10th in January and basically lost all hope of a top 3 finish. Near the end of the season, I finally started playing better and won 7 of the last 9 games. In the end it wasn't enough, finishing 5th, 4 points behind the 3rd place team.
I was quite active transfer wise. Bought Januzaj, Martial and Goretzka, also promoted 4-5 great youth players. Sold everyone over 28, they were asking for too big contracts anyway.
Also I'm managing Wales and we're just starting the world cup, so that should be fun.Khalabeeb - Tony Henderson
