Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

I am reading these posts and I have the following question: is Champions League in FIFA 14 next gen? If so, can I play it? Also, what other tournaments are in the game?

    Thanks

If your talking career mode then yes and yes(if you qualify). Outside of career mode, no

Most drama filled exciting and nerve racking(and most fun) event that I've experienced in a sports game. And I've played nearly every sports game made, or at a least a version of every sports game. Simply put it's the best experience in sports gaming to go through the champions league

The "Champions Cup" is available in Career Mode. It's not a licensed Champions League, but it represents every aspect of the tournament, and its organization. There's also a Euro league and various licensed cup competitions.

Most leagues in the game have their licensed cups, or some other representation, of their domestic cups. I believe there is also a continental competition for the South American leagues as well. Fake World Cup and Euro is in there for CM, as well as qualifiers for it, and Euro tournament. Not sure what other competitions are available for national sides.

That's great to hear. This game is really awesome as is; I can't wait to get to that point.

By the way, how many games in the EPL season?

38 league games and at least 2 cup games(if knocked out in first game)

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

I'm in my second year at Birmingham after moving on from Hartlepool in my first year. So three years, one at Hartlepool in League 2, one at Birmingham, and now I'm in my second there.

Finished 7th in the Championship in my first year, which was a real coup considering injuries, and the quality of the squad itself.

I cleared out a lot of the junk in the off-season, and assembled a rag tag collection of decent free agents, and brought in Davy Klaassen from Ajax to provide an injection of quality. Couple that with the improvements of a few players, and we're in much better competitive shape.

One area of concern is still up front. My first choice striker Novak is still out after he blew his ACL out at the end of March. His overall is dropping steadily too. I just don't have much quality up front. I'll see if I can get some decent cash out of the Capital One Cup to help out there in January.

So far I'm sitting second in the Championship after my first month. It's been especially great since my schedule was a murderer's row to begin. Crystal Palace in the Capital One Cup, Reading, Palace again in the league, Wolverhampton, and Leeds.

Re: How is your FIFA 14 NG Manager Mode going?

                      Arsenal, First Season.

Won the Cap1 Cup Vs Wig 2-1.

Currently tied for 3rd w/ ManU. Both of us are 1 point behind Chelsea and the Spurs who are tied for first. Man City has 5th and is 9 points behind w/ 54.

Giroud - 15 APPs, 12 goals, 3 assists. Injured early in the season after only like 10 games. Luckily my team sparked around Park.

                      Park - 12 APPs, 10 goals, 1 assist.

                      Özul - 22 APPs, 5 goals, 7 assists.

                      Been battling injuries all year.
                      Arteta - off/on injuries.
                      Vermaleen - hyperextended knee.
                      Sagna - broken ankle.
                      Jenkinson - broken ankle.
Özul and Giroud have both missed significant playing time due to injuries.

I'm in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup Vs IPS. Winner plays either QPR or Chelsea.
The other side of the table features Newcastle vs Norwich, and the Spurs vs Stoke City.

I signed Wellington Silva to a 5 yr deal since he's young. Promised him a sporadic first team role.

Due to a full squad I didn't make an impact during the transfer windows, but my short list for this offseason consists of:
                      Micah Richards
                      Martin Hinteregger
                      Raphael Varane
                      Youssouf Mulumbu
                      Nemanja Matic
                      Julian Draxler
                      Karim Benzema
                      Diego Costa
                      Konstantinos Mitroglou

These names aren't "omg I need to sign", just players I'm looking at to replace if injuries and expectations aren't meant.

Fabianski was very unhappy and signed with Fullham at the end of the season.

I made some good youth signings. Bizos, and Paulsen, two GKa with a 74-86(88) potential. Overall I covered a handful of positions and hope to retain these kids once my younger players age out.

Anyone know how long it takes to build up your manager rep to even get a chance of being hired by better clubs? I mean I have been killing it at Birmingham after moving up from League 2, and I can't even get my job application accepted from inferior teams in the Championship.

Currently at 5-4-7 with Chelsea. PLaying at pro level. Been a casual player in the past, looking to get more serious this year. Ive got a feel for the game, now Im starting to get some right stick skills learned, and get soccer basics down (eg focus on using strong feet for players, putting left footed players on the left side etc). Gone online and read that the best formation for Chelsea is 3-5-2.

My best player has been Luiz, but some **** tackled him and he blew out his knee. Didnt even get a free kick. Ive only scored 19 goals for the year, conceded 23. PLaying 15 minute halves. Mata has been good running up the wings. Torres is a good striker, Eto'o isnt.

Pretty sure Im about to get fired.

I keep getting fired win or lose!

Began with Tottenham and was right at .500 for a 1/3rd, won 4 in a row and then got my walking papers.

Moved on to Crystal Palace, got them up to mid-table and then suffered the same fate after about 10 matches.

Finished out the season at Hull City, began the next season with them and after going 6-2-1...........you guessed it, I got canned.

Now I'm back with Crystal Palace!

I keep getting emails warning me about my sideline behavior then after several games I get fired. I don't see any way to control that, but it's starting to get old.
