Why Does the CPU Outrun All My Players
It seems that any CPU player can outrun any of my players - whether or not either has the ball. When one of my defenders are trying to chase down a CPU player with the ball, it seems they can never catch up or it takes them a while. When I am trying a through ball, the CPU consistently runs down and beats my player to the ball. Also, they seem to be able to run down my offensive player with or without the ball - with ease.

I experience the same thing.
I may have to reduce their acceleration in the sliders. -
Re: Why Does the CPU Outrun All My Players
It's just the way this game works. It's been like that for every version I think.
Toning it down with sliders is the only thing you can do.
Matt 10 had some interesting sliders that tried to cure this.resident curmudgeonComment

Re: Why Does the CPU Outrun All My Players
You can hold sprint and catch whoever is on ball, whether AI or player. It's really weird how EA decided to tackle pace abuse- they made the defenders able to out pace anyone. I personally can't stand it, but, what can I do...Last edited by Stoprunning; 01-02-2014, 09:28 PM.Comment

Re: Why Does the CPU Outrun All My Players
Also sprinting really only works this year down the wings.
Best way to do it and not get caught and you need over 90 speed to not get caught, is to use knock on with the right stick. Just hold RT to sprint and flick the right stick the direction you are running. The more you flick it the bigger your knock on and you run faster when you aren't in possession of the ball.
The CPU will always knock it on once, if they have space. They love to give you that tantalizing knocked on ball you close down on but they get to it just a second before you and do some side step thing you can't to escape.resident curmudgeonComment

Re: Why Does the CPU Outrun All My Players
I agree. The only way I can pull any off is to hold LB and slow dribble when I execute them. All the other moves tend to carry you into the defender who just stands there and says thanks for the ball, off I go.resident curmudgeonComment

Re: Why Does the CPU Outrun All My Players
I set my Speed and Acceleration to 52 and reduced the CPU to 48. Seems to work.Comment

Re: Why Does the CPU Outrun All My Players
I also play on default Pro, but I don't see this. At least, no more than it should be.
On defense, I can usually catch up with the ball carrier, or a marked man. If I have the ball, it's 50/50. Sometimes I win out, sometimes I don't. If I'm sprinting and knocking-on, it can go either way.

Re: Why Does the CPU Outrun All My Players
The key is moving sprint speed down to 1, which seems to be some kind of catch up boost.TB Lightning | Liverpool | Panathinaikos | Toronto FC
