Re: Manager Team Ideas for a Rookie

Don't want to hijack the thread but it looks like OP hasn't been back so I don't think it will hurt to ask.

Going to start up a new CM. I always play with the Toon but have kicked around this idea in the past and finally think FIFA 14 on next gen is good enough to keep me playing for a long time.

I want to start a CM with a team never to have competed in the Premier and have narrowed my search (based on starting transfer budget and uniform (have to like what I am going to be looking at for multiple years)) to

    Bournemouth
    MK Dons
    Brighton & Hove Albion
    Millwall
    Bristol City

Bournemouth has never even been in top flight and all the others have never been in the premier (counting MK Dons' history as Wimbledon)

Whatever team I choose I am going to drop to League 1 or 2 to give myself some time to build from scratch, but I'm basically going to gut the roster with the hope of signing one or two young stars to build around.

Thoughts on who I should go with?

Leaning toward Bournemouth (no top flight history at all) or Millwall (love the kit, the attitude of supporters and the fact that they are basically up with Leeds and Man U as hated teams but have not had any semblance of the same level of success)

Look into the average age of their roster. If your going to gut it and start from scratch then it would help on the front end to have younger players that will bring a little higher fee. Just a thought. I was close to starting with Brighton & Hove Albion before settling with Leicester City

Excellent idea. Now based on that it looks like I am either going with the Dons or with Bournemouth. The Dons have the younger roster both in mean and median and are already a league 1 team, but Bournemouth is still attractive just because the Dons are technically the old Wimbledon F.C. and have played top tier football in the past. Thanks for the suggestion though, that will certainly alleviate some of the headaches with getting this started.
