I'm new to career mode. Please help.

I understand and love the game of soccer even though its hard to follow here in America. However, I don't understand the mangerial, contract, money, transfer side of it. I have a few questions I would like to ask so I can build a successful team in FIFA 14.

    1) on average, how many transfers does a mediocre team complete during a window?

    2) do a lot of players get contract renewals and stay with the same team?

    3) how often does the starting lineup change? Or is it usually the same 11 players every game?

I'm sure I have more questions but these are the most important to me so that I don't butcher a team. Thank you.

Depends on team needs, finances, academy strength etc. This is nearly impossible to say, and you'd need to define "mediocre" team. Spurs are a "mediocre" club that are known for being very active in the transfer market. I'm sure there are other "mediocre" clubs that don't have the finances that Spurs have, and thus can't spend money like it's burning a hole in your pocket.

    2) do a lot of players get contract renewals and stay with the same team?
Again, totally depends on the situation. As clubs move up the league pyramid they are less & less likely to resign players. Spurs on the other hand resigned Bale to a 5 year contract then sold him to Real Madrid a year later. Some clubs come to contract terms with a player simply to increase his transfer value.

    3) how often does the starting lineup change? Or is it usually the same 11 players every game?

Lineups are rotated depending on the fixture schedule. Many EPL clubs will play a strong lineup in league matches & rotate in younger players in cup matches to gain experience.

Club competing in Champ League or Europa League tend to need deeper squads in order to meet the demands of mid week matches mixed with league matches on Sat/Sun.

On "average" I'd say a regular "starter" in the EPL would play 30-34 league matches depending on fitness and form. Center Backs tend to play more matches as they form a partnership that relies on timing & experience. A keeper in theory could play nearly every match.

Again, this is totally dependent on the situation as you can see. Some clubs can play upwards of 50-60 matches in a year with league, cup & euro (plus international matches for some players). Other clubs who get knocked out of cup competitions fairly early could play 40 matches. More matches typically means a deeper squad & hence more rotation.

Thank you. I'm West Brom in my first season and I have a bunch of players with expiring contracts coming up, not to mention I have quite of few players here on loan. When I go to offer contracts to players, it will help me pay them the right amount correct? I know it tells me what they expect but should I go above and beyond what they want?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm to used to the NFL and NHL which comes very simply to me.

I just thought of one more question. In career mode you can coach nations in the World. If I do get to manage a national team does this mean the World Cup is played in FIFA 14, or what tournament is played if I manage one of the national teams?

Soooooo your saying the team I am playing for (Bray Wanderers) is below mediocre and therefore are really active on the market? LMFAO One thing that really gives me a piece of mind and moreover the ability to get better as a pro is playing in the SSE Airtricity League. (Ireland) Great place to start

I just feel like I'm going to screw my team up lol. But can anyone answer my question about managing a national team in your career mode. I just want to know if I get to manage a team in the World Cup. If not the World Cup then why would I manage a national team?

Its like in real life, if you qualify you will play in the world cup. You play friendlies too.

Anyone know what month/year you get to pick your national team to manage?

Pretty fast already in the first season, but of course from the bad teams first. You can buy it in the EASFC Catalog aswell, you will get an offer immediately then.

It really depends, if you are trying to manage a powerhouse like Brazil, Italy, France, Germany, etc it may take into the second season. It happened to me when I was Manchester United. It took until right after the World Cup '14 for me to get an offer from Brazil. So keep rejecting all offers until you get the one you want because it will eventually come. Also if you are in a mediocre league you won't get any good offers or none at all. If you are a level 20 or higher you can purchase the International manager offer from the FC catalog to avoid waiting. However, you can only use that one time and one time only.

You do manage the team through the World Cup, but it isn't like the World Cup standalone game or even the kick-off edition they just put in. It's a generic version with a generic ball, but it is still called the World Cup and confetti falls when you win it.

Since i don't want to create a new thread, i want to ask a questions in this one. Can anyone tell me why my Fifa game doesn't save my profile settings? i bought this game last friday and every time i turn it on, it resets to the default setting.

The setting i'm talking about are the Audio (i put the game on Spanish, but it resets back to English Commentary), EA trax, and gam play.
