Professional vs. World Class / Being Fired

I recently made the jump from Professional to World Class. I found professional to be too easy to control possession and the CPU had no real urgency of attack.

On World Class it's way different. It's a pretty relentless assault. Now I use Orion's sliders just for reference, but what other tips can I use at this level?

Does it really come down to just passing the ball back more and holding possession?

Also, how quick is possible to be fired in manager mode? I'm Arsenal right now sitting in 15th about 15 games in and I'm thinking I'm gonna get fired.

I find world class best challenge in fifa with ferrets or orions sliders. I do 10 minutes. Im year 3 into manager mode. Win some/ lose some and that is how it should be. Just shrug off the fifa crazy ai matches. Where they seem unstoppable.

Its a big problem - some players are good enough for world class, but from what I have seen and heard most players are too good for professional but world class frustrates the heck out of them (me included). FIFA screwed up on this IMO.

I have created some sliders to try and address the issue for those that play 6 minute games (see seperate forum). Not perfect but the best I could get. Theres also some other really nice, well thought out sliders out there from the likes of orion that do completely different things (longer games, those that play manual passing and shooting etc).

I know exactly what youre talking about. I played on World Class for quite some time before moving up to Legendary. Lots of b.s., but eventually youll find your way out of World Class. My experience might not directly relate, as I play full manual, but I found the most important thing while defending is to keep your man on player with the ball as closely as possible, while being ready to switch to the cut off player at any given moment. Sounds stupid and obvious, but the better you get at it, the more the cpu will reward you for good defending and give you ball eventually. The way to gain offensive momentum really is to make nice crisp passes, retain possession and wait for an opening. The odd time you can get creative and take a risk, but this really was the key to getting bumped up to Legendary.
