NOOB Question about International Career Mode

So I haven't bought a FIFA game since 2012 and always complained that there is no World Cup embedded in the FIFA games and they put out seperate games for the World/Euro Cup. I remember the good old days of France '98 when Fifa put out a game where you could play league and world cup modes.

I recently went on these boards because I'm comtemplating buying FIFA 15 and I see that you can now play International and Domestic and that the International career seems even more in depth than those specialized games! My question is does the International come with the standard out of box FIFA game or do you have to buy an add-on?

    thanks in advance.

Re: NOOB Question about International Career Mode

There is an international component within Career Mode in Fifa14. You have to be hired as a National team coach in order to partake in this portion of the game, or use the catalog unlockable.

The international mode is mediocre at best, it includes qualifying matches, friendlies and major tournaments, but nothing changes presentation/atmosphere wise. The standalone FIFA14 World Cup game is much more indepth if you are looking to recreate the world cup.

Much appreciated, I saw a comment about unlocking the catalogue in one of the threads that's what made me think it wasn't just a standard feature, thanks for clarifying.

Yeah I know the presentation won't be World Cup quality but that's fine, it's better than having to shell out another 60 bucks for a game that's so narrowly focused like the World Cup or Euro editions.

Re: NOOB Question about International Career Mode

the presentation changes, it doesn't go all-out for the tourneys but it does change.

for example, I have a Spanish-national virtual pro that plays for Real Madrid:
        1. la liga match- it'll be the old ESPN La Liga overlay with Clive tyldesley and Andy Townsend doing commentating
        2. Euro Cup(champions league)- custom espn "euro cup" overlays with Clive tyldesley and Andy Townsend.

        3. Spain UEFA Cup - custom ESPN "European tourney" with Martin Tyler and Alan Smith doing commentary
        4. Spain World Cup - Custom ESPN "World Tourney" with Martin Tyler and Alan Smith going the commentary.

you will have to qualify for both the UEFA/CONMEBOL tourneys as you will have to qualify for the "world cup". it won't have official branding and it will be generic but the commentary team changes as does the style of calling the game.

the FIFA main game though is and always will be focused on the Licensed Leagues.
