Transfers and loans do not play into FUT. Its exactly like MUT. You just build a team based on the packs you open. And you can sell or buy ones form the market.

The only real difference in building a team is there are more chemistry factors. You have formation, league/country and position. So if you run a 4-4-2, players will have higher chemistry that like that formation. And if you have guys next to each other that play in the same league or are from the same country they will have higher chemistry. And if you play a CAM in a CDM role he will have a negative effect on his chemistry.

So once you get all the positions down it should be pretty straight forward for you.

      Re: FIFA for beginners?

I do believe FIFA is superior to Madden. I do believe the drama and the excitement from scoring goals is a lot sweeter than scoring touchdowns in Madden and conceiving goals is more devastating than touchdowns in Madden (although some TDs in Madden that you give up make you wanna cry, lol).

And the controls weren't TOO difficult in FIFA 14, but I did find defense to be hard. I did play one guy in FUT Div 9 who clearly started a new account and he tore me up 7-1. Then I've played a couple guys in Div 10 that I beat 5-0 etc. I found that I got a team that was 95 chemistry but most were lower ratings so I did still struggle (although LaCazzette? was a monster for me and so was Cisse).

Learning terminology was different for me, too. Now I had to add players, positions, terminology, controls. It is just a bit too much for me knowing I am getting Madden AND Destiny. Such as Hybrid squads, etc.

I usually only watched soccer during the World Cup but this will likely have me learning about European and other leagues around the world, too, so eventually I can play FIFA with more ease. Besides, MUT AND FUT AND Destiny? That's why I had to make the decision I made.

Why not just ask the question here.

Ok great... I have previously owned PES every year because of its editing package - I run two amateur footy teams, so I like to replicate those teams complete with players and then hold a PES night - Needless to say, everyone plays FIFA now - if only FIFA had the same editing options, or does it?

Specifically - Can you create a brand new team with a kit and crest, with brand new players (my friends - approx 25 per team), which can play one off friendlies? Also, can you scan all of these players faces in to the game?

I need to know because I would be making a massive commitment of a new PS4 with 2 controllers and FIFA 15. Would really appreciate your help guys, thanks!

You can not create a team. You can add created players to an existing team. But you can not create a team. And you can not scan faces to put in the game either.

Oh no, thats very unfortunate, I guess its not something that FIFA players have wished for, as I know there are a lot of features on FIFA already. Gutting for me, Its always been a big part of my PES experience. Fifa 15 with PES editing package would be a dream match.

PES 15 is also going to be on PS4, so you can get that.

I am also very new lol Fifa 14 was my first real jump into the series. Ive messed around with a few but unfortunately I couldnt dive in last year like I would have liked. Definately changing that with Fifa 15! I still need to learn a lot of the ins and outs, especially controlling teams in Career Mode. I dont really know if there is certain games when you can or its better to start the younger players more, if you need more than one formation depending on how set your team up for different games, and with the new thing in Fifa 15 where you can assign certain instructions to different positions in the game, and in the same position when you make a sub how to know if you need to change the assignment for that new player in the same position. I really like how this year the game helps you out with scouting in the Global Transfer Network, with suggestions and needs. I didnt really reallize how much actually went into he game and strategies and it is quite a beautiful game, trying to watch more on tv when I can and keep with it through articles and such. Ive been really leaning towards Arsenal as my favorite team, I just kept getting drawn to them and their players on Fifa 14, so Im trying to learn more about the club and read about their history and all that, and Dortmund as well, I like a few teams but those 2 are the ones that keep drawing me in lol. But definately have so much to learn with Fifa 15, but its very exciting at the same time. Hopefully you guys and other Operation Sports guys on here can help me along the way.

I have a nOOb question as well. How do teams normally rest/substitute players during a season. Are there players that play all 38 games? Does it depend upon position? etc?

The competition you face. I just watched the FIFA 15 stream video and the dev said they added "team sheets". Pretty much you have your A team, B team, etc. So when you're playing a tough matchup/important game you can go A team, if its a weaker team/less important game you can go with your B or C team that lets those players get some PT.

But what I do in FIFA 14 is rotate based on fatigue and then when I play teams I shouldn't have any issue with I let my younger guys play full games.

Another important thing is the right amount of depth. Too much and you don't have enough minutes to go around and too little you will be running players into the ground. I had to just get use to it with trial and error. At first I didn't even realize the fatigue was stacking because we all know Madden doesnt do that. So I have my starting 11, a handful of players who are starting calibur or just below that I rotate in but have to make sure to keep them happy with their PT, then your younger/lower rated players who you rarely play and should. With that 2nd and 3rd tier you have to check their contracts and see what they've been promised because if you dont meet it they will leave. Some players are fine getting in once every few games. Some if they miss two games in a month will send you an email.

It's a learning process but I love the depth. Nothing like learning from experience.

I'm actually in the planning stages for a regular feature on FIFA Soccer Blog that's dedicated to teaching "newbies" to the sport the ins and outs of the game so that FIFA 15 doesn't seem so overwhelming, which it can be for those trying to come to grips with it. But let me ask you, as a new guy playing the game, what types of things would you like to see in a feature like this, what do you think would benefit you most? How basic should it be? Should I start from the very beginning? Describing positions, and their responsibilities, as well as rules and things like that. then work up to strategy, formations, and tactics?

To be honest I have been FIFA for years but not really following soccer at all except for the World Cup in 2010 and this year. But my college soccer team is really good and since we don't have a football team and that I work in the athletic dept. I have grown to be good friends with some of the guys on the team and I really have started to follow from that. Like over the past 2 weekends I have gotten early to watch the EPL because I live in the States. Even though I have been playing FIFA for years I only played with the big squads like Man City & U, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Madrid. I tried to start one with the Seattle Sounders and haven't really played it much because I don't know what players to get to fit my 442 diamond system. And it's mostly because I don't what players I should get that aren't very expensive.
So what you should do is tell them about some of the better less expensive at each position and what to look for at each position. Definitely go over what the attributes mean when using the Youth Academy and the GTN. Because the one big attribute I always look for a player to have is a stamina so I can run him into the ground if need be. Because I have gotten screwed with scheduling before where I will have a game against a Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid, etc. and then 1 day off later the second leg of a tournament. I would also go over aggregate and how that works because no other sport in North America has that system. And also the various tiebreakers in cup games. Just my thoughts!!! Hope this helps you.

                              Edit:
Another I would add is what attributes each play should be high for certain positions. Like marking and tackling for CBs.

Orion thats a great idea and would be very helpful and awesome. Id say, strategies for say different games like, Cups and League, if its better to switch up for different types. Lineups when to have younger players and rotate your subs in, instructions for the ten on the field and if the instructions change when you sub a new player in the game but same position. How do players match up to different formations, set pieces strategy would be helpful as well. And finally probably Global Transer Network, Ive always been confused on Loans and Loan to buy as well and how to handle aging players and youth academy.
