To those saying FIFA isnt realistic....what are you HONESTLY expecting here? lol.

Of course, anybody who is a mega fan of soccer (or any sport) can sit there and pick apart every fallacy that doesn't represent the real sport. Congrats! If thats what you'd rather spend your time doing...then hey...go for it. Id rather enjoy the game for what it is. IMO. Fifa consistently produces quality games..they may be the most consistent EA dev team out there actually.
That's right... So tell me, why is FIFA the shining light of sports games then? I'm responding to those calling it realistic, I'm not claiming it should be. People talk as if the only thing EA get right is FIFA in terms of beautiful and realistic gameplay, I'm merely pointing out that it isn't...

Again, most people don't say they get it 100% right, just more than Madden, Live, NHL.

If you want realistic take your ball and go outside.
Video games are meant to be fun representations of your favorite sport, nothing more, nothing less. As for the FIFA franchise specifically, the dev team does a very good job of giving all manner of gamers a tremendously well produced, well thought out and highly customizable product that can be tailored to give you the experience of your choosing.
And while the sliders and options that the game provides can be manipulated to give a very good simulation style experience, it's certainly never going to be perfect and it's absolutely not going to be realistic. It's a video game, have fun with it.
Another thing I forgot to mention, the keepers. They were rebuilt from the ground up so yeah, they're not perfect in the demo, but the demo is quite old and the keepers are more more polished in the final release. At least that's what I've been told.
        Enough said^^^^^

Can we stick to real feedback of Fifa demo, not bashing party. At least if you do not like fifa you have another choice in PES, not like some other sports like NHL and NFL. Play, give non biased feedback, and move on.

Nah hold up... I see guys bitch about completion stats, bitch about how Geno Smith can shred a defense, bitch about QB's not throwing it out of bounds under pressure, u see people bitch that db's are psychic, you see people bitch about too many sacks, offensive line awareness, high 3 pt percentages on nba 2k, lack of fast breaks, canned animations... You all agree... I point out a few things in a game that represents a sport that you don't much care for and I get criticised?!? Haha, damn!

Oh and their seems to be a high amount of goals being conceded and scored in exactly the same fashion... A player by the byline, cutting back in and smashing it in the net with the goalkeeper reacting and diving in the same place every time... I've seen the exact same goal on about 7 diff occasions... Fifa has always been famed for certain ways to guarantee a goal.. It used to be 'run down the wing, press x twice and then square it to an opponent to tap it in' this little move by the byline seems to be this years trick.

Played a game of the demo last night on PC, very impressed. I am glad EA is finally doing right by the PC and giving it the next gen version, graphics are spectacular in 1440p. I have been playing the World Cup game non-stop lately and this game addresses some of the issues I have with it (players bobble the ball too much and seem incapable of fielding a pass cleanly for one). Collisions look more realistic. It seemed to easy to just blow by defenders but I didn't change any options, maybe game was on easy level? Tied 1-1 as Liverpool v Man City, fun game.

I would pre-order this game but I am philosophically opposed to paying $60 for a yearly game I cannot trade in later so I won't be buying day 1 unless they have some kind of pre-order sale. EA really needs to pass the savings of digital distribution and no console license fees to the user instead of keeping it all for themselves.

Yep let's move along from the whole what FIFA means in the grand scheme of things if we can.

Let's focus more on the demo.

As far as the lackluster defending goes on the xbox one and my personal hopes it's fixed for the full game. I have played the xbox 360 demo and the defenders take better angles, I talked to someone who played the PS3 demo and he says the same thing is happening with better angles on that platform too.

The real tell here would be if the PS4 version is like the 2 previous gen versions of the demo. If it is that bodes very well for the xbox one version to be "fixed" for the full game.

What you are looking for on the PS4 is when the CPU dribble attacks do your defenders stand still or go towards the attacker but over pursue to the wrong side (towards the touch line) or do they simply run the wrong direction from the attack?

I see those things happen frequently on the one but not as much on ps3 or 360.

Another absent feature seems to be LB for player runs. I can do it on the 360 demo but the one demo LB never seems to trigger a run.

That too to me may be a good sign. There is no way the full game would have LB to trigger player run removed.

Also! just scored a nice goal off a FK in the 360 demo. The type of goal that would never happen in 14 and before versions of this game. Posting a vid in a second...

This would never happen in previous fifas. In 14 and before it would have been gone and on a CPU counter attack in a heartbeat, my threat to their attack in no time flat.

Ea site now reads that demo is coming soon, instead of available shortly. This leads me to believe well have to wait next Tuesday.

Now that we got all that arguing out of the way we can get back to demo reviews.

Lemme just log onto my ps4 here and fire up this demo, everybody hold your breath I'll be right back.

I've heard -- and I don't know if this is truly the case or not -- that certain sports game demos are intentionally "looser" to allow for more open-ended gameplay (and scoring) to appeal to casual fans who might just be giving the game a spin. Especially in football demos where time is limited and an endless string of nil-nils is a valid result. If that's the case then we'd need to see the final product to accurately judge the defense anyway. Just a thought.

That would be frustrating. I'm sitting here watching Europeans playing the demo on Live From Playstation app.
