League objective goals completely broken

I'll preface this by saying I don't like when people use the word broken, but, this is broken.

I'm in season 2 with Palermo. I finished the 1st year 14th in the table with the league objective of not being relegated. I was praised and bla bla bla. So now in year 2 they're asking me to finish in the Euro League spot. wtf?

Euro league? I went into the team sheets and import sheets option to see how I ranked in Serie A. There's 12 teams better than me in Serie A. 12. How do they figure on gods green earth I should finish top 5 when 12 teams are better than me? Nevermind the teams that are also 3.5 stars quality. Unreal. Stupid.

And yes I'm adjusting my starting 11 to have my crappiest players. In fact I'm also putting crappy players on the bench, and best players on the reserve. This is totally borked and will ruin my MM experience. I don't want to be a perennial winner from the start , I want to build up a team with a good youth system and my own players. Now I have to fear for my job every *** **** MM?

And while were on it.. why the #### can't I just turn off coach firings btw? Isn't this my manager mode? If I want to have no coach firings, why the hell isn't that my choice?

*** **** it. This was "fixed" in an update too because before you could put out a crappy starting 11 and avoid this bullcrap. EA, give us the option to turn off manager firing or at least improve the absolutely broken logic for where the board wants to see you finish.

I deleted Fifa and will try a reinstall when server is back up. If i cant play Fifa without the new updates I'll go back to 14.

I'm so disappointed with ea words fail me. What a joke and fast way to make a game mode so irrelevant.

For the first year? I just tried and it worked for me. Avoid Relegation/Reach the Round of 32 Stage (domestic)/Reach the Knockout Stage (EL).

I tried everything else that I could. I can't make the *** **** thing work. I tried adding a slew of 40~ overall youngsters to bring down my overall average. No dice. ill try your trick tho

I actually can't believe this is a bigger issue for people and more people aren't pissed off. Am I the only one who uses challenging sliders? For me taking a 3.5 star team in Palermo year 2 to the Euro League is only possible with cupcake sliders and not caring about realism.

This is actually so bad I have to either now buy fifa for my PC and mod out the firing, or, go back to FIFA 14 so I can be left without ridiculous board demands. Unreal.

I started my MM this year with Man U, trying to bring them back to glory. Expectations were to win the BPL and the FA cup. At the beginning of the winter transfer window, I sit in 3rd, 8 pts back of the leaders, and I am constantly getting emails that the board is not pleased with me. That is some BS. I would understand if it were Chelsea or Real Madrid.

This is what I posted in a thread about this in 14:

No, for some reason you can't. They don't seem to understand that some of us just want to play as a team, and not as a made-up manager.

But there's a way to cheat the system.

If you're playing as Liverpool the board probably wants you to win every title possible. That's because their starting 11 is so highly ranked. If you change their starting 11 before you start your Career, the goals will be adjusted accordingly. This can be done before every new season in Career Mode as well, if you follow one rule.

Put only 60-rated players in the starting 11 and the board will ask you to avoid relegation. Don't do this. You won't be able to manipulate the board in future seasons. The goals will gradually go up one step each year (Finish Mid-Table - Europa league - Champions League - Win).
This, however, doesn't happen if you never get the "Avoid Relegation" goal. Before starting your Career, make sure your starting 11 will get you the "Finish Mid-Table" goal. This may take a couple of tries before getting it right.
Then at the end of every season, before advancing to the next, the board can be manipulated into giving you a "Finish Mid-Table" goal. Just make sure you save before advancing so that you can make changes if you get the wrong goal.

Don't forget you also need to have some lower-rated players on your squad, so don't get rid of them all. If you plan on having a youth squad and promote from there, those players can be good of good use.

I've ran a couple of test careers and this works. I hope they will add an option to just turn firings Off, but for now this will have to do.

edit. It is possible to get "Avoid Relegation" again. I got it in a Hull City test career. Not quite sure how, but it's possible.
edit2. I just did it again and I may have figured it out. If I finished mid-table (places 14 to 6 or 5, I believe) I could not do it. But if I finished in the "green zone" (17-15?), I could. I don't know if I'm right or not but I'm tired of trying to find the answers. Just give us an option to turn firings off! I should be able to get relegated 3 years in a row all the way down to League 2 if I wanted to!

I'm not sure exactly how it works this year but, if I remember correctly, I managed to get three straight seasons of "Finish Mid-Table" when I ran a test in 15 after release.

I'm not sure exactly how it works this year but, if I remember correctly, I managed to get three straight seasons of "Finish Mid-Table" when I ran a test in 15 after release.

Ya it is different this time around post patch. The starting 11 trick works only for year one before you start the season

That's not entirely true.

I just ran another test, having "Finish Mid-Table" in year one with Spurs. I finished 5th after simming.
A lower-ranked starting 11 gave me the goal to qualify for Europa League. My best gave me the goal to qualify for Champions League (plus winning it...).
I tried a few times and could not get a goal lower than EL.

So you can still impact it slightly, though obviously not in the capacity both you and I wish we could.

Just give us the option to turn firings off, please.
Not giving us an option is just terrible.

You could go to ask for more funds, enter 0 as the value and lower your expectations and the board would agree to it. I worked on one of the past FIFA editions.......but I have no idea if it still works.

I tried, it wasn't possible (unless I did something wrong).
I could not select a goal that was lower than what I already had.
