Most of you anti-scripting ppl are missing the point. That goal sounds cool, but just because it's against the AI for the human , does not mean there is no scripting. Scripting is a control of events to get a desired effect or result. I've played a game that I won where I basically did not even play or put any effort in - scripted outcomes are also very much in favour of the human. Online games are also scripted heavily to keep it as fair as possible, as long as the two players are *very roughly* at the same skill level.

Re: Really want to love this game but 90th minute goals/scripting are killing me agai
Does nobody remember FIFA 14? Two events that display high scripting were the dink keeper kicks, where they would pick up the ball and kick it no far outside their box. I scored maybe 40% of the time they did this, and it almost always went closer to my player. This is a scripted even to basically give me a goal. I dont believe I can recall a goalie drop kicking a ball so close to the outside of their box, especially on so many occasions.
The other event was when the ball hit the post on certain events, the game would briefly freeze - I called it the Matrix goal, because it was like when they saw the black cat in the first matrix movie. The game calculates what it wants to do in that moment, and it always went in. If you watch replays and go very slowly, the physics are all wrong in these moments. The ball never seemed to have sufficient revolution speed on it to hit so far to the front of the post but spin in.TB Lightning | Liverpool | Panathinaikos | Toronto FC

Re: Really want to love this game but 90th minute goals/scripting are killing me agai
In the last game I tied, they had a chance to win late, and the ball hit every part of the goal frame (I don't recall the proper word) but did not go in.
I have not seen any scripting. When the game is on the line, winners want the ball.Comment

Look, I'm not saying certain games aren't easier/harder for no apparent reason. I agree. Some games you seem to have worse 1st touch and the CPU is always in the right place to intercept passes. If you quit and reload your game (sometimes a few times), you will get a fairer match. I will admit that it pisses me off that a very weak team to suddenly pressing me hard, but that is what makes the game fun. I'm mad as hell when I can't do enough right to win, but I don't like going undefeated........ Last night I tied one of these ridiculously hard games (in the 90th minute). A few minutes before that goal I missed a shot from 3 yards out...... Nothing fancy. Just a tap inSouthern Miss-SouthamptonComment

The bottom line is this thread is made every year so there must be something to it.
If there is no scripting then why do so many of us feel cheated?Comment

Re: Really want to love this game but 90th minute goals/scripting are killing me agai
Sometimes it feels as if the game is scripted. Example; played a match as Man U against West Brom, and no matter what, their defense would not let me close to goal. Every tackle they made was perfect. I didn't score until 90 +2 and lost 2-1.
What I am really hating is that the handballs still are not being called.Comment

Re: Really want to love this game but 90th minute goals/scripting are killing me agai
I don't beleive in the scripting but holy **** I just got so unlucky. 4 games in a row...
The kicker being a 4-4 game where and he shoots it, it bounces of my own player and goes in. It literally couldn't have gone in any other way i had like 8 defenders in the box. I kickoff instant game over no way to come back.....
His goals, a 1/1000 long shot from almost half pitch WITH HIS WEAK FOOT.
a through ball where it bounces off of one of my players right back to his player my 2nd defender challenges him and kicks it to his other striker and my 3rd defender challenges and he hits it only to have the ball not move and he scores.
Off kickoff he literally just dribbles through 4 defenders each one gets a foot on it and does nother.
And the last on I have 2 defenders challenging him at the edge of the goal and my keeper decides to run right at him on the worst angle leaving the entire net exposed and he just taps it in. Had he just stood there there was no way to score.... keepers are stupid.
Each one of my goals I worked super hard, controlled the field, and set up beautiful runs only to score 4 goals on about 12 one on ones with the keeper he was just on fire while mine was ********.Comment

Re: Really want to love this game but 90th minute goals/scripting are killing me agai
Thing is Bigfoot was seen by maybe 10 guys in the whole world. Fifa scripting is actually being discussed by thousands of people.
Now seriously, games have scripting and they need to! Else everything was going fine once you new how to play. Every shot would be controlled, every pass, every tackle. Same both for CPU and human. These games must have an error %, and like in real life, sometimes players miss everything, sometimes they go on a good moment and nail everything. But the virtual game has to decide when does that happen, and there´s where scripting kicks in.
Because it also needs to be unexpected, sometimes it kicks in on the most unexpected situations, making some weak teams harder to beat, because our players suddenly can´t do s"#t. This leads to some unrealistic situations, were we feel cheated, but to be honest, without it, this would be the most boring game after a while...Comment

Re: Really want to love this game but 90th minute goals/scripting are killing me agai
For those who believe in scripting, how do you explain the experience of those - like myself - of the CPU loosing close games, the human player coming back, or those who simply do not experience it?
I am curious. When the game is on the line, winners want the ball.Comment

I honestly think most of you are misunderstanding the term scripting. There is scripting, but it's the effectiveness of the scripting that seems to be the common complaint here.
Fwiw, I don't believe in rails scripting either because the SuperCancel option works just fine - you just have to know when to use it.Comment

Re: Really want to love this game but 90th minute goals/scripting are killing me agai
The game is not scripted. However, the ratings of both USER and CPU players fluctuate throughout the game creating the illusion that it is scripted. It's EA's attempt to recreate the highs and lows that a team experiences throughout a match. My only issue with it is when all of the sudden a team with no players rated higher than 70 start playing like Bayern Munich. It's rare but it happens.
Ask anyone with the PC version that can view the game files. There is a momentum file in the game. As far back as FIFA 06 you could turn momentum off with the right editor. EA has said that momentum doesn't exist in their game. Well....they lied.
For people that use the Legacy defending, have you ever used second defender press and notice that sometimes your defender will attack the CPU ball handler immediately and other times won't? What about clearances in your own penalty box? No matter how long you hold down the clear button, the ball goes less than 10 yards. Ever have those games or moments throughout a game when the CPU goalie saves everything or you can't seem to get a shot on net even from inside the 6 yard box? Answer is probably yes. We all have.
The funny thing about these scripting threads though, is that this same momentum that is applied to the CPU at times is also applied to the USER and no one ever wants to talk about that.
Because the ratings fluctuate throughout the game, there are times when conditions are ripe for a goal to be scored. Right after halftime, after a goal has been scored by either the USER or the CPU, and in stoppage time. They are just trying to recreate the idea that "a team is most vulnerable after a goal has been scored". The stoppage time goals try to create the "holy ****" moments. To me, FIFA 15 finally gets this right and it's not overdone.
We all play this game enough to sense a change in momentum on the pitch. All of the sudden we can't complete the simplest pass. Can't hit the net from 6 yards out, the 65 rated CPU goalie is playing like Buffon, can't clear it out of the box, etc. ANSWER: Changing tactics and formations.
Scripting is not in the game, but dynamic player ratings are.Last edited by therizing02; 12-08-2014, 09:32 PM.Comment

Re: Really want to love this game but 90th minute goals/scripting are killing me agai
Just played against Chelsea. I was Tottenham. I was up 1 midway through the first half. Final score of the game was 3 to 0.
No scripting, just smart play. They did try late and attempted to be more aggressive and had 1 or 2 good opportunities.
This has been about par for me. It all comes down to how I play. I have had the game since launch, and typically when I am ahead late, I win and in a small, very small percentage of games, I draw. However, I usually win and often going away with it. This is why I can confidently say there is no scripting.
What say ye?When the game is on the line, winners want the ball.Comment
