Once he was on the team I was looking at his traits for no good reason, (ie: Clinical Finisher) and I think I figured out the reason he is so hard to buy.

Messi has a trait called "One Squad Player" or something similar, which basically means he will always spend his career with one team. I've never seen that trait on anyone else before, even on other players who have played their whole career with one team. I will take a picture of it when I get home.

So, it's not impossible to get him, but its extremely difficult, and I think it's because of that trait. I'd be interest to see who else, if anyone, has that trait.
Alot of player have the one club tag...Fletcher from MU, I believe Abbiatti from Milan..

Yeah I'm sure the "one club player" trait has something to do with it. I know Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Xavi, I would assume Totti (although never checked) and others have it as well.

I tried buying Lahm once and we wouldn't leave either, although I didn't go above and beyond and offer a crap load of money for him. I'm sure with enough cash you can get him, but you might have to pay him double his current salary or something.

I got Messi at ManU in the summer transfer window after my first season. I had to give up Falco and $50 mil to get Barca to agree to it and then I had to offer Messi $1,700 a week. Its all good though I got him for 5 years.

It took me most of the summer transfer window to get him.

isn't Falcao a loaned player who returned back to Monaco after the first season?

Yes he is, he goes straight back to Monaco, and if you want him its gonna cost about 50-60 mil to get him. So no way this dude did what he said he did

Couldn't he have moved him before he started his CM to ManU as a full time player?

Anyways, I forgot about that when I started mine, because the loan is merely a formality at this point. So I used a financial takeover to get him back.

Well guess it depends on if he used the downloaded squads or not. I went and got him too, sent 25 mill and rvp for him since rvp wanted to leave like he always does and I was afraid someone was going to pick him up off of free transfers.
My only issue with falcao is his stamina...69? Really?

I started my Manager mode without downloading new squads. Falco wasnt on MANU yet. I traded RVP and some cash, not sure how much, to get Falco.

I never had an issue with his stamina either.

I have almost the same problem with Andre Pirlo. In every career I've tried to get him in, he declines. The team accepts, then we get into contract talks, I offer him **** tons of money, when he's only really about 8 million and takes a 150,000 wage. And everytime he declines with basically saying he's too good for me, my team and the league we play in. I've tried this with Burnley in the Premiers, Fulham in Championship, & RB Leipzig in Bundesliga 2.

That is probably why...he has a high (4*) international rep. So he is highly unlikely to go to a lower squad like Burnley, Fulham, etc. I usually play as Chelsea, Bayern, etc. and i have never had a problem like that. In 14 I signed Pirlo to play off the bench and he accepted it with no complaints. It was on a free transfer and I gave him a wage between 100K and 150K.

I got him in 14 pretty easily.

It took a bunch of effort but I finally got him to sign with me for 1,400,000 a week with a 15% per goal bonus.

I had to keep reloading but he finally agreed.
