Youth Squad is causing my game to crash!

I have completed my fifth season as Man U and when I try and enter my youth squad my game crashes. I have tried simulating, firing my scouts, everything I can think of but it crashes everytime.

Has this happened to anyone, is there anything I can do?

My last resort is to take a new job at another club but I have so many talented players on that damn squad I don't want to lose them.

I only have one possible suggestion, which quite possibly won't work, but i'd try anyway. If you start your console without an internet connection, this may let you skip a week or 2 or whatever to get it working before connection back up?

I was forced to take a job at Milan to reset my youth squad. The new job reset my youth academy which fixed the crashing issue. I'll admit I have actually enjoyed beginning to rebuild a new team. Milan's cupboard is pretty bare in 2020 so I am going to use a financial takeover (which I never do) to add a few pieces and make them a contender.

They only gave me 10 million to spend and I used it mostly on a 5/5 scout. I sold a couple players for little return and brought a few players from Man U on loan (2 guys promoted from my youth squad and Oliver Torres). That pretty much ate up most of my budget.

The servers were down for maintainence a few nights ago so I wasn't able to use the financial takeover before the summer transfer window ended. I did use it and I now have 55 milion dollars.

Since I am in my 6th season (First 5 with Man U) and my roster is getting old and full of holes I plan on using most of that money in the free transfer market.

Calhanoglu, James Rodriguez, and Lacazette are available.

I generally don't like taking advantage of the free transfers but given the fact that I was kind of forced into a new job I am going to turn the roster over as quickly as I can. Truthfully even if I can add all of those players my roster will still have some serious issues.

If I have any money leftover after that I will probably use it to buy up some of my youth academy players from Manchester. I have a few gems left over there that I was looking forward to using.

This is a glitch that existed last year as well. I think it happens when the game creates youth players with duplicate names. The only way to fix this is to do what you did or wait until the glitched player decides to leave your system.

Yeah, it sucks. Before this happened I wanted to get a game in every chance I could but know I don't want to play at all. I played every game for 5 seasons buidling my team the way I liked it. I don't want to start all over again. But oh well. The worst part of the whole thing is that the team I left behind should be tearing up the world but they can barely win a game. It's just frustrating.

I had the same thing happen to me in 2018. Luckily, I had saved a second copy of the career mode. I had lost 7 months of time in the mode, but I haven't had it glitch again. I personally use 4 saves for my main career mode. I overwrite the oldest one at the beginning of every month. So in theory if it were to glitch again I should be able to reset it to the last month, or, if need be, 2 or even 3 months prior.
