MLS career mode question
So being a Liverpool supporter the last couple days has had me thinking. Has anyone tried to do a career in the MLS and bring in older legends of the game on contracts as they reach the end of their careers? Does it work well? I was thinking a Philly franchise or something and bring in guys who are close to retirement like the Thierry Henry/Redbulls partnership.Sacramento Kings San Diego Padres Dallas Cowboys Liverpool FC

Re: MLS career mode question
Well, I played with Nottingham Forest and bought a few older players. There's a lot of players out there who are still really good, despite their age. And in FIFA, they can still grow!
Yohan Cabaye
Gabriel Agbonlahor
Emmanuel Adebayor
Loic Remy
Martin Skrtel
Per Mertersacker
Are some of the guys I brought in when they were older (30+) except for Cabaye, I got him when he was 29. He grew in OVR to about 86. And Gabby Agbonlahor also grew in stats! He wasn't that good starting off, but I got him to about 83 OVR.
It's sort of a "cheat" in a way. But if you play Madden you can understand what I mean. You might have a QB in Madden who is rated like 77 OVR. But you go check his QB stats and they're insane! 98 THP, 85 ACC etc. and you're like, this guy is a beast! Why isn't he rated higher? It's because maybe his QB Awareness is rubbish or whatever. I signed Brock Osweiler to my Patriots team after I traded away Ryan Mallett. Brock had great stats but an average OVR.
Same with FIFA. Gabriel Agbonlahor isn't great in a lot of areas, but his finishing was decent, his shot power was good, but I love my speedy strikers and he was quick! I often would play him on the left win in a 4-3-3 false 9 set up. When he got to about 32 his speed went downhill.
Emmanuel Adebayor was a great goalscorer for me. But what was really weird and cool was, he told me he was going to retire and then in the January transfer window AC Milan wanted him for 8 million so I happily accepted. He was 35 at the time and I couldn't do anything. Offer him a new contract, nothing! It just says "No Actions Required for a Retiring Player" or something.
Anyways, my point is, there are a lot of great older players who can help your team. Especially in the Premier League -
Gareth Barry, Jermain Defoe (Toronto FC / maybe Leicester City) the guys I mentioned above, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Joleon Lescott, John Terry, Peter Crouch, Glen Johnson, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Aaron Lennon, Joe Cole, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Ashley Young, James Milner. Those are my English picks.
In fact, I'm going to do a separate thread recommending some older players so, check that out!Three Time Super Bowl Champions.
