Anybody else try this?

I had an idea a while back and have now done it a couple times. What I do is create a player for a player career but I SIM about half a season or maybe a full season. Then I retire and see what jobs are open and start my manager career. To me it's like starting an FM game unemployed. Anyone else do this? It's kinda fun.

Uh, that's brilliant, lol. Mind kinda blown, never thought of that. What do you think are the added benefits/differences?

That's incredible. Top prospect gets a career ending injury, but still has love for the game and transitions into management. The script writes itself.

How many years can you manage after you retire the player? Love this idea.

Well it started with me playing a season as totti and then going on to manage Genoa for about 3 seasons. The type of teams that you get offers from are usually from similar leagues as the team your player is on. I did some testing, if your player is in the championship you'll get offers from countries like Austria, Belgium, and championship and lower teams in England. Had a player in the Netherlands and got offers from France, Portugal, and Russia. So keep that in mind when choosing where your player starts.

Probably depends on how long you go as a player. I've never gone beyond 3 or 4 seasons after retiring the player.

I've been going back and forth on what team I wanted to start a new career with.....this just might solve that problem!

Ok, I tried this last night. I decided I would use Tim Howard. I retired and started my coaching career. I got to make a sub and the normal generic coach is on the sideline. I thought I would see the man with the glorious beard........ This is still a cool concept, but I wish EA could get the player's heads on the coach's bodies.

That would be awesome. If they ever do that I'd choose the craziest looking guy on fifa make him my coach
