I find myself starting and restarting new seasons with every (or every other) roster update. I'm a Soton fan, thus I love to play has them. I also love a challenge and like to play as Accrington. You get the idea......
I've tried using different "house rules," to make things fun and reasonable. This too became stagnant. I tried to combine my first two teams. Move all the youth of Southampton to Accrington. I felt like I was killing my favorite team and the youth was too good for League 2.
I've finally settled with this: I choose 25 players (all from England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland). They must be 60 or less overall.
I moved everyone from Accrington to free agent. I used sofifa to find very good youth and moved them to Accrington (I continue to use this team because of the terrible transfer budget). I turned off the first transfer window.

I have my default team and my midweek team. I only change the line ups for form changes. I will look for 2 free transfers and possible 2 paid transfers, but I may not have the funds. I have used 1 "scout for a future star." It came back as a GK 74-92. I don't have the budget to buy a scout (I will only buy a 3*3* scout).
I will continue using my scouting and transfer rule.
League 2 can only scout the UK (England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland).
League 1 can only scout Northern Europe.
League Championship can only scout Europe.
Premier League can only scout Europe, Africa, Asia.
Champions League can scout anywhere.
I can bring in 2 free transfers.
I can bring in 2 paid transfers.
I can bring in 2 YA players.
If I get promoted, I can bring in an additional paid transfer and an additional YA player.

I've just reached Nov and I'm enjoying this career a great deal. In January, I will have very few Midweek games, so I will send a few of my players out on loan. I have found one free transfer that I hope to get (LB Shinnie 23/69/75). I would like to bring CM Alli 18/61/84 on paid transfer (but it has to be for a good price as I don't have much money). I'm currently in 2nd place, lost my 2nd Capital One Game, lost my 2nd J. Paint game.
