I think we're going to see a significant power shift toward MLS over the next decade. Beckham kicked the doors open, now you've got Kaka, Gerrard, Lampard, Pirlo and Drogba winding up their careers here, not to mention guys like Rooney, Luiz, and even Ronaldo are saying they might like to play in America one day. Granted, none of these players will be in the prime of their careers if/when they eventually get here, but how much longer until that changes?

Sure, these foreign superstars who are a little past their prime are good for the league (both on field and off), but it's the young guys that are already here that will propel MLS to another level.Tradition Soccer - FIFA League & Community

Fabian Castillo. Darlington Nagbe. Dom Dwyer. Cyle Larin. Mauro Diaz. Gyasi Zardes. Harry Shipp.

Re: Any MLS updates coming to 2016
I think that's a strong statement to make. The MLS is becoming extremely more competitive and watchable, not to mention the amount of money players could potentially make in this country if the sport truly blows up one day. I'd say MLS is 5th but gaining ground fast on Seria A in 4th. The NY RB academy team beat a Chelsea team with its starters playing. Albeit Courtois only played a half and it wasn't a game Chelsea prepped had for going in but the fact is a MLS team with 3rd string players beat a top 5 club in the world. David Luiz is on record saying MLS is becoming more desirable and soon could be among the worlds best.Comment

Re: Any MLS updates coming to 2016
How is it the fith best league? Ligue 1, Eredivisie, SOGAZ Russian Football Championship and maybe the Belgium Pro League are all better leagues than the MLS. A few world class past their prime players do not make your league the fifth best in the world. I'd rather see La Liga get the license treatment first, although the more the merrier but it'd annoy me to see MLS get the treatment before any decent league in Europe. We Europeans are not as intrested in your MLS as you're intrested in our EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, etc.Comment

Re: Any MLS updates coming to 2016
I didn't say MLS should get treatment over La Liga. Ligue 1 is overrated besides PSG, Marseilles, & Lyon which have done nothing in European competition. You also are saying your not interested in it which means your not giving it a chance. Watch some games, there's some great players along with those world class players past their time.Comment

Re: Any MLS updates coming to 2016
That top action is La Liga and the EPL. EPL just signed another huge deal with NBC over here, and we have just as much, if not more exposure to the English football than even people in England do.
As for MLS, MLS just signed a big deal with Sky Sports to have more MLS games broadcast over there. I know Euro's aren't head over heels for MLS (as they shouldn't be), but I've heard more and more Euro's at least have it on their radar.
To say American's aren't interested in it, and vice versa, is insanely incorrect.Comment

Re: Any MLS updates coming to 2016?
A lot of people seem to forget (or just didn't know) that the MLS is doing the same growth the EPL did in the 70's and 80's. Back in those times, it was France (or Italy, one of them) that was the top league in the world, and all these old players past their primes were going over to the EPL.
EPL fed off of that along with numerous other things, and look where they are now.
The MLS is following that same exact trend, and with increasing deals with sponsors and TV, it'll only be a decade or two before it's easily in the top 8 at least.
Keep in mind that only 8 years ago, David Beckham was coming in and no one really cared much about American soccer. Now look where it is, and look how far it has come. And the league is only 20 years of age this year, as compared to leagues/team that've been around since the turn of last century.Comment

Except I never said you weren't intrested in our leagues. I said we Europeans care less for the MLS than you care for our leagues.Comment

Re: Any MLS updates coming to 2016
Uhm, I hate to break it to you but American's are HUGELY interested in the EPL. Sports in American culture is rampant (seeing as more money is invested in it than all of Europe combined), and American's know where to go to find the top action with soccer.

Re: Any MLS updates coming to 2016?
I watch the big euro leagues and obviously know their quality is much higher than MLS, but I would prefer watching MLS over any other league any time. It's our league here in the states and my hometown club is literally down the street from me.
I'm glad to see the growth happening each year and pretty soon EA will have to pay much more attention to it like all stadiums, faces, presentation, team deals, etc...Comment
