Are stats in Career Mode carried over from year to year or are they wiped after each year? I thought I read somewhere that they are wiped and start fresh with each year.

All player and league stats are removed at the end of each season. They only thing that carries over is the managers win/draw/loss record. They are pretty terrible at keeping stats in this game, always have been.

It's strange (lack of a better word) that the players stats are not carried over to the next season.
Imagine how awesome it would be if after 3 season your top striker is reaching a club milestone of 300 goals or something similar and the commentator mentioned that before kick off.
This are simple things that should have been added like years ago.

It's things like that, which make me feel that EA just doesnt care about singleplayer modes anymore. The Community has asked for more stats and depth in CM for years now and it'd be easy to include, it's just simple statistics. Goals, Assists, Games played etc. It's not much compared to other sports games like NBA, NHL etc.

Yeah thats right but if it's too much to keep track of all the leagues (I highly doubt that, because EA's football manager was able to do that in the year 2005 with a LOT more leagues and players) then at least give us the stats of the league we play in.
PES also gives us a lot of stats this year and they might not have as many leagues but at least they get the stats right for the major Leagues and the international competitions.
The stats/date depth of FIFA is just ridiculous.
I mean they're even too lazy to give us correct rankings of other leagues.
If you have a look at the "other leagues" menu and compare it from time to time you'll see that some teams go from having 3 W - 2 Draws - 3 Defeats to 2 Wins - 5 Draws - 1 Defeat in the next week...
I'm pretty sure a hand full of developers could include a stats menu with simple stats like league rankings, goalgetters, assist leaders etc. of the last few seasons in 2-3 days time.Comment

Stats on FIFA are a huge letdown in Career Mode. They used to have advanced stats back in FIFA 11 for the entire season but nothing ever carried over. What's even more puzzling is like Royce said, they have advanced stats at the end of every match. How hard would it be to just add them up as you play?Comment

This is definitely a major sore spot that is in dire need of rebuilding.
I guess the only hope is that they are working on it behind the scenes and it isn't fully ready yet and we would get it next year, but years keep passing by.
