FIFA 16: My Brilliant Manager Mode Idea!

So, one of the difficulties for me in playing the game and sticking with tactics and strategies is that when I am playing, I don't really recognize the player to know, for example, that this is my Right Midfielder who I want to go wide and send crosses into the net. So, especially if they come towards the middle of the field, I might use them to come up the middle then wonder why my striker is not going out wide. Nothing wrong with the game, I just don't have that level of recognition of my players yet and what they do.

Thus, my brilliant idea. I am going to start a Manager Mode with Sheffield Wednesday. I will create players (friends and family) for the starting 11 plus 5 or so bench players. I will make them look similar to their real-life counterparts, imbue them with a skills to match the current team, then take the field. This way, I will know, for example, when I see my friend XYZ on the field, I immediately know who they are, their role, what they are capable of, and what their instructions are as well. This will help me tremendously.

Since, I only follow the BPL, I don't know any of the players on Sheffield Wednesday anyway. LOL! So replacing them won't be hard. :-)

Has anyone else done this? Any thoughts?

Don't confuse fantasy with reality. You don't want to have to explain yourself after you drunkenly rant at your friend, complaining that he keeps missing the net on free kicks.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

That would be funny. I might even do that if I am not drunk. Lol!

It's a good idea Zone BUT it doesn't solve your problem, only creates a work-around.

Unless you're a fan of a Championship side/league I'd gauge that most people don't know all of the players on their team. For me, that's the fun with any CM, it's learning your team, finding out the strengths & weaknesses, and trying to make them better.

Also, not all clubs or players have static positions. Some clubs have managers who like their attackers to roam and not stick to a specific area. For example, you might watch a Barcelona or PSG game and wonder why Messi & Ibrahimovic are coming so close to the midfield to receive a pass. Part of that can attributed to how the defense is playing them, part of it on what the manager's instructions are, or part of it on the player just being intelligent and finding the open space. Realistically, it could be a combination of all of those things.

To get back to my original point, just stick it out with SWFC. You'll eventually learn who your players are and where they're supposed to be.

Good points. I may try that and just add me. :-)

However, you are right. When I ran a Sunderland franchise once, it took me some time but I finally did learn the team and what they are capable of on the pitch. It took me some time but I did do it for the most part.
