Teams like Barca, Chelsea etc. not in the CL?!

Hey, I was wondering if anyone of you noticed this "bug".

I'm in my second season and I just had a look at the Champions Cup and was pretty surprised that Barcelona, the spanish Champion from the 1st seasons (I took screenshots of all the other league tables before ending the season) is not part of the "Champions League".

Also Man United who won the Cup in the first year also plays in the Euro League.

Pretty excited to see how Barca is doing in the Euro League with all the "realistic" Transfers they made in the off-seaon. I guess Neymar, Messi, Suarez, Hazard, Boateng etc. will be enough to make it through the group stage.


Is there even anyone at EA who tests career mode before release? If not I'd be happy to do it. It's just a ****ing rip-off to all us singleplayer fans that they just dont give a ****!

They probably fell into the form bug. Where a player had a bad form in a game, and then was benched for the remainder of his career. Yes, that is still present in 16.

This irritates me so much. I can't stand it when a big time starting keeper has a bad rating after the FIRST GAME of the season and never gets to see the pitch again. I've actually started simming the first weekend and checking form before moving on. I do the backout and reload until all of the keepers have a good enough rating to stay in the lineup for week 2. Tedious and annoying, but my OCD makes me do it. Really should have been fixed, by now.

Ya, I've been checking out other teams in the third year of my MM, ones that have sent me offers. BVB right now is in relegation trouble. They sent me an offer. I took it to see why. All the stars have been on the bench in down arrow form. Probably the whole season. They only have 2 wins. Same with Leicester. They all their big named players were on the bottom of the bench with terrible form. No wins for them in last place.

It just so stupid. How can they not fix the logic of that.

So, is what you guys are referencing the same thing as what happens to GK with regard to being benched due to poor form (and ultimately low stamina)?

Could stamina be increased for these players that this is (repeatedly) happening to so as to counteract?

Or, is this something completely unrelated?

Stamina plays a big part, but ultimately, it comes down to form. Both need to be high for them to keep their starting jobs. It's actually cool that guys need to be in form to stay on the pitch. Makes sense, because that's how it works in real life. That said, it's not implemented correctly. I've seen guys like Courtois, Lloris, and Hart get stuck on the bench because they scored low in the first game of the season. They need to find a way to program it so that players have time to be evaluated. Nobody would get yanked that quickly in real life. If after 10 or 12 games, they are still in bad form, THEN maybe a change is warranted. So, at the end of the day, right idea, wrong implementation.

Oh I didnt know that's the reason some players just play 1 game per season.

This game is so ****ed up...

Seems like no one from EA has really tested the Career Mode over the last few years.

I thought the problem with big teams not appearing in the champions cup was connected to the weird constellation of the other leagues tables.

Didnt anyone ever notice that some teams have really inconsistent W-D-L results?
e.g. Real Madrid had 10 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats one time I checked and a few weeks later they only had 1 defeat. Wondering how thats possible... (and no I didnt load an earlier savegame)

Ya that is another thing that has always been broken. Its because they don't actually keep stats of other leagues. Its randomly generated each time you load it. So you can go check the job offers section, a team will show 2-4-9, but on the league standings it will then show you something like 4-5-6. Its just silly.

In my opinion, this seems to hit the nail right on the head and if that really IS what's going on, then it's inexcusable. There is no way that some of these legacy problems should still be in the game. Especially, when guys like us REPEATEDLY try and point it out to them year after year with no response. I know it's beating a dead horse, and I apologize for that, but I just can't help but point to FUT as the biggest culprit.

I'm not even really testing the game for bugs or weird things in career mode. It's just things that catch your eye if you play FIFA Career Mode for a few years and you're just wondering if they're just unbelievably lazy or if there really is no one who's running a good test on CM before launch.

I play CM probably 20-30 hrs every year and then I loose interest because it promises you so much but somehow it's really disappointing each year.

It's inexcusable that for a big and succesful company/franchise to neglect a big part of their community that much. And yeah you're right, I think FUT is the problem because since they started it, CM feels like the read headed stepchild...

I remember playing the EA FIFA Manager game in 2008/2009 for hours and wishing that one day we'd have a game with it's depth and proper gameplay. Now we have the gameplay but havent made one step in the direction of combining the two.

Singleplayer in FIFA just feels empty and if casual gamers like me see sooo many bugs and wasted potential in a game, I'm wondering how unmotivated these guys at EA must do their job.
