FIFA 16 Manager mode: getting sacked/fired
I'm curious to see if anyone knows how easy you can get fired this year. In previous installments it seemed that you got fired as soon as you failed your league objective, even though you met the board's expectations 4 years in a row. I'm approaching the same situation in Fifa 16, after 3 seasons with MSV Duisburg I promoted to the Bundesliga but right now I'm in 17th place. I could just cheat and sim a couple of games over and over again until I get a victory, but I really don't want to do that. So I was wondering if the board is less strict or, even better, if there is a way to turn of getting fired in it's entirety?Tags: None -

I'm wondering this as well. I completed 1 season with Hull City now I'm asked to finish mid-table in the BPL.
I will say that I did not receive any warning messages in my first season even after being a decent amount below expectations half way through the year. -

Am interested about this as well. Also will you get a new offer from other teams after being sacked? Or you've to start a new cm?

Re: FIFA 16 Manager mode: getting sacked/fired
I can answer that for you. You will get around 3 offers from other teams so you can jump right back in. However, I can't imagine that someone wants to do that. It has always been about the team for me, not the managers career, which means that that particular save-file is done as soon as I get fired.Comment

There should be an option.Comment

In 2014 you could bench all of your good players after your last game until your "review"
Your league expectations for the following year would be significantly diminished if your starting roster looked weaker.Comment

Re: FIFA 16 Manager mode: getting sacked/fired
I've wanted this for years.
Like in every other sports game I play, I want to play as a team. Not some made-up manager.
Instead of getting an email saying I have been fired, the game might as well show me a "game over" screen.
I get excited at the prospect of taking over a newly promoted PL side (or one from the leagues below) and simply establish them as a PL regular, while still keeping it very challenging to do so and perhaps even fail. Being promoted only to get relegated again, man, that sound like it could be a lot of fun to me. Or take over a struggling PL team and fail to stay up, and then have to fight to get back.
Firings: On/Off.
It's awfully simple.Last edited by Entiae; 10-05-2015, 01:26 PM.Comment

Can't change your lineup to lower expectation. They fixed it this year..Southern Miss-SouthamptonComment

I guess it was a bug...but wish they would've at least lowered expectationsComment

Re: FIFA 16 Manager mode: getting sacked/fired
I just want to say that this makes me sad ...
It is foolish to think that, with a club like Swansea for example, Garry Monk would be sacked for a mid-table finish. A mid-table finish is exactly what is considered a fine year for Swansea.
Only one team can win the league, only four teams can qualify for Champions League, etc.
What "added value" does the threat of being fired bring to the game?New to FIFA23 ... did not care for FIFA22 ... after having played FIFA19 for the previous three years!

Re: FIFA 16 Manager mode: getting sacked/fired
I simmed through one season with Portsmouth FC before, I have done that many times, if I don't get to League 1, I am fired almost 100%, which sucks because in reality it won't be the case, ususally they give the new manager/coach a few years to play around with the team, I wish I can turn this option OFF!Comment

Re: FIFA 16 Manager mode: getting sacked/fired
Rubbish, In reality you would get sacked.
Turning it off defeats the purpose of being a manger in modern football. I don't know what its like in America, but in Europe, managers change almsot as much as players, thats just part and parcel of the game.
Deal with it.Comment

Re: FIFA 16 Manager mode: getting sacked/fired
You completely miss the point of this thread. Of course managers get fired very quick these days, but like a lot of people here already stated, we don't want to play as a manager. For us it's al about building a team from the ground up, like an owner or something.Comment
