    Two-Year Loan Question

Can I take a player on a two-year loan if his contract with his parent team will expire in less than two years? What might happen when his contract expires while he is on my roster?

    Example:

Hyndman (Fulham) has a contract that expires in 2016. I want to bring him in for a two-year loan (with an option to buy at the end of the loan). What is going to happen in July 2016? Will Hyndman remain on my roster (with me still paying his wages)? Will I still be able to fully buy him at the end of the loan period (in June 2017)?

    Re: Two-Year Loan Question

If I understand your question, than no. You can only loan out/loan in for two years if the players has at least two years left on his contract.

If the player is under 23 at the end of his contract, you/CPU has a chance to resign the player before hitting the free market. However, if you have the option to buy the player, that would allow you to buy the player without any other clubs trying to out bid you.

If you know the rules for the NFL contracts, it's a lot like waiving a player.
Team A waives a player. Team B can pick up the player the first 24 hours for the same contract (years/wages) that Team A had with the player. Or Team B can wait until the player clears the waiver time and sign the player for any amount of money for any amount of years, but other teams will be lurking to do the same.

    Hope this helped.

Just checked. Your guy will be 20 at the end of his contract in June.
You can loan him in for a year with an option to buy
      or buy him outright.
You can wait and hope the CPU doesn't resign him and pick him up for free in the summer, but you won't be the only team after his signature.

        Re: Two-Year Loan Question

Reddit told me that a player will not accept the "buy" part of the deal after the completion of a two-year loan.

So ... more general question then ... should I avoid two-year loans altogether (regardless of the remaining time on a player's contract)? I will not be able to purchase the player after the end of the two-year loan - is that true?

EA seemed to make "two-year loans" one of their (limited) career mode talking points for FIFA16 ... and the consensus now is that these do not work correctly? Awesome.

I'll piggyback on the loan question...

Is there a better/worse time to list players for loan? I have a lot of younger players that won't see first team action and want to loan out, but unsure when I should list them?

Also, should they be listed for short or full season loan heading into January--or is that all personal preference?

            Re: Two-Year Loan Question

I always post loans the day before the window opens. If its the summer window, I ask for a year loan. January window, I ask for short loan. I can't get all of my youth out on loans. Last window I had 18 offered for a year loan and 10 went out. I sometimes will stop and reload if no one gets a hit in 4 days. It kind of circumvents the system, but in real life teams will find a team for a player they want loaned out. EA hasn't figured out a good way to realistically get youth players loaned out..
