Is anyone using MLS teams in career mode? Is it worth it?

I played as Toronto FC in '15, it was basically playing as a lower level club English club without the goal of promotion.

Overall, I'd say it's kind of boring. You just play a season to make the playoffs, which EA has not implemented correctly. The format is wrong.

There is no CONCACAF Champions League or other "winners tournament".

There is the U.S. Open Cup (domestic cup), which is pointless, IMHO if you're not playing lower division clubs (which are not in the game).

If you use a Canadian club, there isn't even a domestic cup to play in.

I was thinking about using an MLS team to start my career. Play them for a year or two and then get hired by another team. My hopes would be to get hired by a lower tier team in england or germany and work my way to the top.

The other think i was thinking of doing was just starting in the lowest english tier and work my way up.

I picked the Seattle Sounders when I first got FIFA 13 but never played much being a striker (Dempsey/Martins)

I did get loaned out eventually but once you win the MLS Cup they don't reward the team for that.

Knew I should have went with Liverpool FC at the start.

Not to mention you're going to be playing in the same 4-5 generic stadiums most of the time (with the exception of Seattle and Vancouver), whereas you can start an EPL career with all authentic stadiums. Or start a lower league career in Portsmouth, that way at least your home games will be authentic.

Also, I could swear that when I tried playing in the MLS in FIFA 16, it still had the old playoff rules (i.e. 5 teams instead 6 or whatever it was). Maybe someone can confirm that?

For anyone who has a pc strong enough, get fifa on pc. Download my MXTRA patch. It includes USL, NASL, CONCACAF CL, full US Open cup, Amway Canadian championship and club world cup all playable in career mode. Currently working on adding Mexico's second division now. (Sorry for the cheap plug, but I'm a big CONCACAF guy and I too think the console version mls is boring)

I'm a Spurs fan and a Union fan. Spurs are fun, but I like the idea of bringing a lower level team up to the premier league, rather than a relatively top level club like Tottenham.

What I do is take the MLS and place them in the English League 2. After that I disperse the teams based on star rating throughout the Championship, League 1 and League 2. The Union tend to be in League 1, and it plays pretty fun. Gives you a promotion/relegation, variety of cups, and the possibility of going to the Top and competing in Europa and Champions League.

It includes USL, NASL, CONCACAF CL, full US Open cup, Amway Canadian championship and club world cup all playable in career mode. Currently working on adding Mexico's second division now. (Sorry for the cheap plug, but I'm a big CONCACAF guy and I too think the console version mls is boring)

I'm very interested in using this patch. I'm a Sporting KC fan and I passed on Fifa 16 this year because of the lack of attention MLS gets. They used to have ESPN presentation but I believe that is gone too. Please direct me where to download the patch and I will look for a good deal for the PC version. Hopefully the game will recognize my PS4 controller.

Found Fifa 16 (pc) on cdkeys for $36. Downloaded it and then your MXTRA patch. Amazing work! You did a wonderful job for us North America soccer fans. Can't wait to see version 2. Thanks again!

I like to start my Created Pro in the MLS, that is pretty good fun. Gives you a chance to play in the MLS/North America and eventually get sold to a bigger league if you choose to go.
