Driven pass/First touch...Hell, passing in general

My God, is there anything more frustrating than these two features?

I'm kinda new to FIFA, but I've played 14, 15 and now 16, so I know a bit about the game.

This driven pass thing... I don't really despise it. I just don't like it. It's a dumb feature to add with first touches being SO SUSPECT this year.

Every time I pass to one of my players, no matter the distance, even though I face the receiver and no matter what type of foot skills he has, the ball bounces completely off of their feet into the opponent's possession. I don't ever remember first touches being so bad.

Even when the ball is coming at you, it takes the players so long to control the ball before you can make a move and not risk turning the ball over.

Passing is just atrocious imo. The ball almost NEVER goes to who I'm passing to, and if it's a regular pass, bet on it being intercepted by the OP defense.

Overall, I'm not impressed with this game. FIFA 15 was eons better than this, imo. I believe this game is much more of a challenge compared to the other ones, but you dont make a game difficult by giving it defective features.

You just make it more difficult to play.

Have you tried to use LT after making the pass so the receiver can control the ball more easily?
However I agreed with your assertion that passes doesn't always go to the intended player even when you are facing him. But this happens in real life as well although not from the distance and regularity it does in fifa.
The game can be frustrating at times but it's still enjoyable.

First touches aren't suspect this year. Most of the guys I play clubs with can receive any pass pretty easily; however, if you try a driven pass from less than 8-meters, only a school bus can stop it quickly. Proper use of the driven pass is key and its a pretty great tool to have in your arsenal.

Being a player since FIFA '09, in my opinion, the passing this year is the best its every been. The "off ball" moves are what make this year terrible...again, in my opinion.

Ive tried LT, but I feel the results are the same. Either way, I'll try to be more conscientious of what buttons I'm pushing. See if anything is different.

No offense but it sounds like you just need more practice and time with the game. Yes, this game is much more challenging than previous FIFAs, but that's because it's more realistic with many of its fundamentals.

But trust me, once you get the hang of it if anything the driven pass and passing in general is still OP and pretty easy to pull off slick passing moves. I thought this game was way too hard at first too but now I'm actually finding Legendary to be not that hard when played with default settings.

Just give it time. Best FIFA in years.

              No offense taken.

Playing online H2H as opposed to playing the cpu yields significant differences.

By "off ball", I'm talking about the AI controls when you have the ball. Getting them to make runs, move to open space, etc. isn't very good this year. Also, I lump the no-touch dribbling into this category as well because its "off ball". Either way, both are terrible this year.

Touch is still garbage, but I switched to full manual passing and its a new world.
