Has anyone found a reason why players are afraid of the ball?

Six times in the last game one of my CPU teammates decided the ball wasn't what his priority was, and instead of making the obvious play allowed the opponent to continue their offensive possession. It's quite frustrating. Has anyone figure out a fix for this? Or am I forced to deal with the fact that EA wants your teammates to be as bad as possible to make the game hard?

Also, just for slider purposes I attempted to make passing less on the dot, ended up with CPU Pass Error = 100, after four games my opponents have gotten 95%, 93%, 94%. Seems like sliders don't really affect much in that department.

Finally, I know single-player mode is broken, and EA doesn't really care about it, but has anyone found new ways to make it more enjoyable?

Think of Pass Error as not necessarily to attribute towards pass completion. It's more so the pass quality. So instead of a low driven pass, they will kick fluttering, beach ball, roll. Instead of a high-long, 40 yard ball over the top, the CPU will barely kick it 20 feet in the air. You can test this by putting user's Pass Error at 100 as well. Try to hit a full-power-bar long ball, and you will see that they will barely get the ball off the ground.

Pass Speed, Sprint, FT Control and Acceleration also attribute towards the passing percentage.

Players being afraid of the ball, is a product of marking, Sprint and FT Control. Finding the combination of "fixing" this issue has been tough, but so far I'm playing with a higher Sprint, a higher FT and a higher marking. I use a lot of super cancel though, so your perception of what's happening on the field could be skewed if you're not always using super cancel. I would not recommend leaving your CPU teammates to try to control a 50/50 ball automatically as FIFA 16's issue has been the players being afraid of the ball, or as we term it in the slider section "Loose Ball ADD".
