If EA could get the defensive awareness down....

It would look as good as this game does...in that department...

Re: If EA could get the defensive awareness down....

You know what, euro 2016 got me in the mood to play some fifa and that quickly escalated to me wanting to do bad things to my gamepad. But in a constructive sort of way.

I was thinking about why I hate F16 so much, when it's clear that last year EA tried to deliver the strongest AI they could, which is not a bad thing. The problem is that most games feel like there's Italy defending and Barca attacking. And to make it even worse their idea of creating difficulty was to share none of that awareness with the human AI.

    My wishlist would be:

    1. Get rid of all the legacy difficulty levels. There's always one or two missing anyway, and it's just meaningless words. The way they do difficulty ruins almost all iterations. Just give us two options. Offensive and Defensive CPU strength. 10 is always the best you've got. Let us choose a different value for offence/defence. Human AI team-mates should be on the same level, otherwise games just feel stupid.

    2. Finally deliver us from slider hell with a 3rd option. Again ranged 1-10. Name it what you will, it should be a final modifier that increases the chance of contextual errors (bad shots, passes, touches etc). Its sole purpose is to make any game feel like a real full game of football, properly scaling with the half length we want.

That's what I was thinking anyway. Those 3 options would make me happy enough to buy a FUT pack. In any case I got my fix with some fifa 14. That was a decent one.

i liked the scrambley nature there - but the work rates were ridiculous.

i always liked to see a difficulty between worldclass and professional. on WC the AI sometimes shoot goals which are sooo unbelievable.
AI low-passes to an AI staying on the whitel ine on the 18-yard-box, my defender stays directly behind the ai...and the ai doesn't even stop the ball...it immediatly hits the ball (face showing to the opposite side of the goal) and throws a goal with a superb swerve in the upper corner.
