When are we just going to admit that the problem is EA Sports? The games we all complain about (FIFA, Madden, NHL, UFC) are all EA. The ones we seem to gravitate to as comparison are MLB The Show and NBA2K. Not to say those are perfect, but they have "changed the game" for the better.

Madden CMF is absolutely and objectively better than FIFA career mode. Not only that, but CFM is actually pretty fun. They have done a great job adding new features every year, made team building very fun with custom draft classes, etc, and have a full edit more now within CFM. So, don't like a guys name? Change it. Don't like his ratings? Change it....and so on. Saying Madden CFM is nothing special is just bias.

I like both games, but FIFA really needs to step it up in this regard.

This is wrong, because Madden does a great job with franchise mode. NHL is terrible, and FIFA. Agreed there.

I don't think Madden Franchise mode is anything special, if anything it was stripped of everything good a few years ago and is only now getting back to where it was in Madden 2005.

2K has the best and deepest "Franchise" mode IMO, that should be the gold standard for these games.

I will agree that FIFA's Career/Manager mode is lackluster and needs to be amped up heavily, but I'm not all gung-ho on Madden.

I'd say that Madden's connected franchise alone makes it MUCH better than FIFA's CM

All this talk about Madden is making me want to give it a try lol but I haven't bought/played a Madden or Football game since NFL 2k5 and NCAA 2006. Any who I would love the see FIFA Career mode really expanded but and given the proper care like many other sports titles because it is lacking far far behind.

It's stat tracking, development, scouting, are all far more interesting and well developed. That's a fact. It's your opinion that you dont like Madden. That's fine. BUt dont confuse facts and opinions.

Yes, Madden's is deeper than FIFA but it's not where it could be IMO compared to some other games.

There are no semantics. Maddens franchise mode is better, deeper, more tuned, given more attention to by the devs, and more interesting than FIFA's. Full stop. There are no semantics to argue. And by trying to say there's no big difference, all you do is give more ammunition for the fifa devs to be more complacent with manager mode in the future.

You know how Madden got these changes and upgrades? The community. We need the same.

When fifa can let me join my friend in michigan who is doing a spurs cm and I can be nantes and co-exist in the same cm fishbowl let me know.

well a lot of the FIFA community that generates revenue for the game is online now...

it's probably the biggest if not one of the biggest online sports gaming communities...

many fans from the community have been preaching the same thing you did about offline career mode but instead about upgrading CLUBS online (a mode they haven't touched in YEARS) which EA has finally heard the outcry and actually did some minor updates to this wonderful mode. This is probably the most underrated sports gaming mode in any sports game. So my point is if you get more and more to complain about this they might finally upgrade it...

there is many who are just sick of their attention to FUT... the money maker.... this is obviously their #1 priority now

offline unfortunately comes second in priority to online as it should imo.. the developers of EA were smart enough to realize that first unlike Konami with PES

I hear you though OP... the developers should upgrade these parts of the games every year. at least a few updates in every mode. Not only should they update FIFA Online clubs but also Career mode. They have the money and staff to do but choose not to.

When fifa can let me join my friend in michigan who is doing a spurs cm and I can be nantes and co-exist in the same cm fishbowl let me know.

I just think something like that would be damn near impossible in a soccer game. They would have to have dozens of leagues simulating simultaneously. Madden has one league to simulate. I'd imagine that makes it much easier to do.

Besides, if FIFA did it, people would just complain about longer load times.

That's not as difficult as it sounds. It's already simmed right now in your own CM, just on a surface level. They could have those leagues simming at the same depth and it wouldn't be impossible to do.

Again, Madden has set the bar high for other EA games to follow. Fifa needs to take what Madden has done and replicate it.

But are those leagues actually simulated? Like if you're playing as an EPL team, and Barcelona are playing a random La Liga side, is FIFA actually simulating that game (Messi scores twice, Suarez scores once, Pique picks up a yellow)? Or are they just aggregating the two sides' player ratings, putting that info into some probability simulator, and just randomly assigning a scoreline to the game?

I'd be surprised if it was the former. And I think it would lead to a lot longer load times, even if you only did it for the top 5 UEFA leagues.
