    Official FUT 17 Discussion Thread

With the Web app up and running, and players already listed on the market, I figured I would go ahead and fire this thread up.

What is everyone's plan? Players you really want?

    Can't wait for next week...

Someone already posted 347,000 worth of transfer profit. Good grief.

Wow, they sure throw a lot of cards at you, don't they? Looks like I'll have a nice little starter team to work with.

My FUT logic is a bit skewed, I do things like rebuild my favorite teams, which for starters will be Galaxy and Forest. I don't really care about getting top players, I think the best I ever got was Rooney when he was in his prime.

Yeah I think I got 6 or 7 packs. Most of it garbage, per usual lol.

I have quite a few players I likely will never use. Should I go ahead and just quick sell them, or wait around for 'a few' extra coins on the market?

I'd like to start turning cards for profit, but only have 376 (lol)--but quite a few cards I could dump to help get me going...

Re: Official FUT 17 Discussion Thread

This is my first FIFA that I'm playing FUT at launch. Only got into it over Summer and have been a CM guy.

I quick sold most of my cards. I almost kept them until official launch to make more off them, but I wanted to see if I could find some good buys. I was able to pack the Botteghin CB that made TOTW 1, so I'm trying to sell him for a nice little profit. I was able to buy a couple Miliks pretty cheap, and a few cards of players before they received the TOTW (Forsberg, Bettinghin, Mault). So I'm hoping to make some money off them. No bites as of yet and I won't be able to check until after work. Maybe it'll be better next week anyway.

Can someone give me a quick rundown of how FUT works? Considering trying it out this year.

You receive starter packs filled with cards to start your team. Create your lineup and you can play online and offline.

You can buy packs of cards with either the coins you earn or FIFA points that you buy with real money.

You can use the transfer market to buy and sell cards

Create your lineup using player chemistry. Better chemistry for players in same team, league, country

Earn coins by playing. You can play FUT Draft and other tournaments throughout the year for prizes.

Players decrease in stamina as you play them in consecutive game. Multiple ways to get around it...playing offline using other squad players, fitness cards, etc.

I'm sure there is a ton more to say, but those are the cliff notes.

It's pretty fun since you can earn your way to better players or just players you want.

Are you guys able to buy points? I was going to buy Fifa points last night and it didn't go through. It just a black window with cancel underneath. I guess EA doesn't want my $99.99.

If I recall correctly from previous versions, you can only buy through your console--but I may be mistaken...

They changed up manager tasks this year a lot. Every task gives a reward, some are just items, some give some coins, some give little packs, definitely better than before.

I took the bait and started FUT early for 17. The initial batch of players I got were really mediocre. I've checked out the FUT app and already used it to create a watch list for the Transfer Market. I prefer to build through the Transfer Market. Packs have been a total rip-off.

The matches are too short. I prefer halves longer than six minutes. Tournaments should not mix national and club teams. Hopefully, these have been improved upon in 17.

The Squad Building Challenges are really cool IMO. Allows you to do (trade) something with the really low rated untradeable players you get in your initial packs. You can at least try for the rewards that may (or may not) be more lucrative.

Either way, nice touch and fun to fool with. Not in the Web app though for some reason. Would be a lot more user friendly than on my phone.

Glad I have that huge 6P screen though

Just an update on this. I bought a bunch of Botteghin cards (5 or 6) cheap (300-1000) over the last day or so and they finally went up in price. Sold them for 1600-4400.
