Last year it was all default. I haven't checked into new team sheets for this year. Tactics are void for CPU.........everyone plays the sameSouthern Miss-Southampton -

To answer your question, in Career the AI appears to use the default tactics even if you've created one for the team outside of the mode.\
What sucks is that tactics changes do work in this game. I play a Premier League where I control every team. I used a chart I found on OS to revise the tactics of each team and I did see some improvement. I was playing Chelsea (using Jose M's tactics) and the AI did not attack at all. Chelsea played ball control and kicked it around the mid field a good amount.Comment

You cant. I basically run a season mode (through tournaments), create a premier league and play the season. That way I can control all 20 teams.
It sucks that EA refuses to let you use more than one team in career mode.Comment

Re: If I create custom tactics for each team does it fix the AI?
If it's anything like last year (which I'm assuming it is)—you need to edit the default tactic for each team. If you set up a new team sheet and set it to favorite, the AI will ignore it once in career mode.
However, they will utilize their default one if you edited it and started the mode with custom rosters as opposed to downloading the latest updates.
The issue with this last year is that custom tactics did little to change how the AI actually played.Last edited by Krebstar; 10-06-2016, 06:01 PM.Comment

You're right, last year the team's AI wasn't really affected by changes in the tactics, but not this year. Custom tactics ARE working in Fifa 17. Long ball tactic is long ball tactic, possession is possession for example. You should try the game. Man City by default had like fifty something in buildup and were very direct, so I changed it to 30 and all of a sudden they slowed their buildup. That was not possible last year. Fifa 17 is on the same level as Fifa 14 tactically speaking.Comment

Re: If I create custom tactics for each team does it fix the AI?
I just tested , The second teamsheet is never used. Next I tried editing the default team sheet and saving over it. Then used currently customized for the roster. I changed the first team of the season Liverpool to 5-4-1 and a custom with pressure at 1. ( something easy to see quickly.)
It stayed....... So It does work if you edit the default team sheets and use currently customized when starting your career mode enjoy.Comment

Just tried them in exhibition matches, and by the way Liverpool's tactic is the best if you want long balls in this game man. I counted like more than 20 long balls in a 15 minute match, and their forwards don't even have "run behind" in their instructions. I was jumping with my players like all the time. Impressive work by EA. Surprisingly though, I gave another team 100 in speed and 100 for long balls and saw very few of them.Last edited by dcar87; 10-08-2016, 10:54 AM.Comment
