I can't understand why in 2017, we are still having to play with Goalkeeper generic kits in league 2, league 1 and many other teams in other leagues. Are there actually technical difficulties that are keeping EA from assigning real Goalkeeper kits to all teams?

I totally disagree. The problem with many sports franchises is that is what they are focusing on (Online Play), that is exactly what is ruining Fifa and many other games.
What I want is focus on the Career/Franchise modes. That is the heart of the game. And if they apply the changes to both off and online Career modes, that would be good.
Without better AI the game goes backwards. Focusing primarily on online modes would kill the game's AI completely in time.
I get the Pro Clubs argument, 11 vs 11 is fun (haven't played for a few years now however) but Career online would be a disaster if it became de rigour for the mode, as EA would not feel the need to make any significant improvements to the CPU AI as they force everyone onto the net for their CM fix, where the play would be FUT-esque - i.e. TERRIBLE.
Offline mode is of extreme importance to keeping the game's AI constantly improving, and that's where EA should be focused.YouTube Channel: FBCComment

I think they are already a threat, and to increase that threat licensing is not going to help a ton. If a lot of suggestions were taken from this forum and applied to gameplay, I dont think many people would care if Manchester United was called Manchester Red ... and if they did it takes 10 minutes to download and install the Kit on PS4.
If they do want to get casuals via licensing, I guess the MLS would be the way to go (e.g. for kids in the US to play). For myself I could never get behind the MLS as a real league until they incorporated relegations and promotions and could care less if they are in a game or not.
What will help is improving their game play modes in areas Fifa neglects year after year and adding more leagues even if unlicensed.
If PES added in a serious Youth Program, Scouting System in Career Mode, additional leagues and tiers (like English 3rd and 4th leagues), and a handful of other options .... Fifa would have nothing left against PES except an arcady online mode that works better on lower speed internet than PES's MyClub.
They launched their game a week before the FIFA16 launch - BUT without up-to-date player rosters! They then had the temerity to issue a statement (via the thin-skinned Adam Bhatti) that the rosters would be updated in early DECEMBER of that year - 3 months late and 1/3rd of the regular season over!
So any player transfers would have to be done manually, but it got worse - when the roster update finally appeared, various other players disappeared from the game and some transfers from 3 months prior had still not been included!
It was a disaster. Many (including myself) aired our grievances to Bhatti via Twitter, and his response? Blocking every negative comment about this joke of a launch. I'm still blocked to this day; it became a badge of honor on Twitter, 'blocked by Bhatti'!(which is part of the reason I don't run many (if any) PES series on my channel). But I digress.
So to sum up, PES as a game is fine, excellent even, it's the idiots in charge of public relations and 'organizing' things like timely and accurate updates to the rosters who have let this game down, year in and year out. God knows how much potential ground they could have made on FIFA in the Fall of '15 but I would suggest quite a lot - EA were there for the taking.
But as I said, laziness is inherent at Konami; they rely heavily on the PES community to fix their own game for them by creating data files, updated kits, rosters etc.
As long as the personnel who make these crass errors - then hide behind block buttons (I'm looking at YOU, Bhatti) or sit on their hands while the community bails them out year in and year out, yet continue to stay in their jobs, they will never challenge FIFA where it really matters; public relations, professionalism and caring about their base.Last edited by SteveFBC; 04-26-2017, 05:25 AM.YouTube Channel: FBCComment

I agree about this, but PES (or Konami, to be precise) are inherently lazy. A case in point: before the launch of PES 2016, FIFA/EA were entrenched in a public relations disaster; the coin-buying fiasco was seeing people leave the FUT franchise in droves as the cheats and exploiters moved in, driving up prices of players and making the mode a joke as everyone who bought easily-purchased coins built virtually unbeatable teams - and what did Konami do in response to this huge opportunity?

Re: FIFA 18... 5 things that must be added to the game... no excuses EA.. pretty ple
forgot I posted this...
but interesting.. just want to add I still play FIFA 17 weekly online in pro clubs mostly lately... by far the best mode in sports video gaming history.. not just in this game.
FIFA 17 although I posted this demanding simple changes... I do not take this game for granted... no other sports game even comes close to how good FIFA is online imo.... none! FIFA is the only sports game that I myself and friends I know will play it year round until the next one comes out.. and that is mainly due to how good of an online sports game it is.
with that said I hope they add some of the simple things...
my initial post they must simply add 1 and 2..... there is no excuses not to considering these functions are already in the game in other areas.
I also still want them to add practice mode.. where it's the entire pitch and not the practice arena and where we can go in our pro clubs dressing room and train together with your edited virtual pros
as far as the stoppage time scripting stuff... I can deal with it to be honest.. I'm over it and do much better at preventing it from happening
add lobbies to online to where you can set up matches and chat
would be nice to have online career mode or leagues we could create as well...

Re: FIFA 18... 5 things that must be added to the game... no excuses EA.. pretty ple
Generally totally agree with Steve. Bhatti is a fool in many areas, but I understand well he went cold in the fall of 2015. He became Scapegoat of an entire company's inability to react and argue correctly! He even got death threats because of a game?!?. Konami would not hesitate to improve pes if they were convinced they could threaten EA. But they do not have the money and not least they have few staff (cheap) to improve the game. One of the reason it took so long to update in the autumn of 15, and led a wide-feeling aggressive towards Konami, did not think their reputation could be worse, it could !. . But see them now their fan base is back with full force. But they will never ever be a threat to EA unless they change access and start responding to EA's error. EA and Konami are never gonna change, forget it !. The day when someone decides to make a football game and has the money for it, and not least watching the game as it is, you can think (hope) of something new.
It didn't help when Konami left him out to dry on this PA disaster, but his pathetic response to criticism still annoys the hell out of me!
A quick look at his twitter feed even to this day will show his contempt for anyone daring to criticise the game...with an attitude like this no wonder they are so far behind EA when they could be much, much closer to them sales-wise.
PES will always have a hard core fanbase, I was a part of it until Bhatti got into the picture, the game is superior to FIFA in so many ways but it could be number 1 if it addressed the game infrastructure properly, worked out its differences with Microsoft to allow Data Files to be uploaded to XBox (30 to 50% of their console market lost right there) and more aggressively bid for licenses (somebody suggested ** EDIT:it was you LOL! ** expanding the MLS league, great idea but will Konami spend the money? Unlikely) - their options and potential is endless, but they first must have the right people in charge.
Currently, if Bhatti is an example of their mindset, they will always be second best to the vast majority of sports gamers.YouTube Channel: FBCComment

Re: FIFA 18... 5 things that must be added to the game... no excuses EA.. pretty ple
I basically gave up on Fifa this year because of how broken it felt in career mode. The sliders were just a mess (for me) this year. I like a LOT of the suggestions in this thread about the sliders and career mode improvements. There are a lot of common sense/basic things that are missing.
I've been playing a ton of Football Manager and it's just incredibly immersive. If they could put 1/3 of what FM has into the career mode in Fifa it would improve it dramatically. More realistic transfers, more realistic contract negotiations, angry players actually demanding first team soccer, tactical adjustments that actually show up on the pitch, more varied position groups (Ball Winning mid, Box to Box mid, Deep Lying Playmaker etc), more in depth scouting (although I generally think scouting is fine in FIFA), and more.
It would create a whole new layer that would extend career modes further for everyone, because it does get very same-y after a while.Teams:

Re: FIFA 18... 5 things that must be added to the game... no excuses EA.. pretty ple
practice mode in pro clubs would be pretty cool indeed
the journey mode was a good addition because pro clubs received a few improvements because of it, but it still needs a lot of fixes...
the goalkeeper and defenders non-human players are a mess
an pro clubs indoor/street mode with 4 to 6 inline players would be very cool too.
it would be easier to fill the team with real players, everyone would be more participative in the match and would indirectly solve the non-human players bugs lol.Comment
