I'm actually really okay with this. Something tells me they are just waiting for the perfect time to pounce. While FIFA always has FUT, you have to hand it to them for still acknowledging other demographics that are not of FUT interest. Yes, they can definitely improve CM, but at least the gameplay (and I hope sliders) is at a decent level. I'm sure we're going to see the Frostbite engine ramped up a bit higher than last year.

Yeah, they have been quiet boys over at EA for a while now.

Rumor has it they are adding the 3rd german division for this years game.

Join the biggest FIFA Ultimate Team Community on the internet - Create Squads, Search the Database, and find FIFA 23 (and historical) stats.

Maybe not a big deal, but at least it gives career fans a new division to look at.

I heard (not a reliable source admittedly) that they have done a lot more with the fans/crowds this year, even going as far as fans leaving early in games that are one-sided. Now THAT would be very cool!

Yeah this could go either way: Either they got something up their sleeves (sorry but I doubt this) or its just another "slow and steady update" from last year's game.
Not to deviate but even the Madden team is quiet (and release is next month!). These are the 2 largest EA Sports franchises (AFAIK) and it's a little odd. Sadly, FIFA is still a juggernaut and regardless of updates, they're still selling more than any other Sports  game out there.

First off, online manager mode would be completely awesome. Been wanting this for years.

Also, I'm wondering if this is a new EA Sports strategy with Madden being so quiet this year compared to the past couple years.

That would be fantastic. It feels like it's been a while since they worked on the smaller details. I have heard some interviews with devs over the past several years where they brought up implementing elements that made the game feel less generic.

I'd like to be optimistic, but unfortunately all I'm expecting is updated rosters and some tweaks to FUT. There's so much that needs added/fixed in FIFA that will probably never be addressed. It's sad, because I really want to enjoy "the beautiful game."

Millennium posted a while back that they mentioned that career mode was not ignored this year. Take this with a grain of salt.

Pretty much this but they don't care they'll still outsell PES

I'm strongly considering switching to PES this year. Haven't played that franchise since the called themselves "Winning Eleven" since FIFA 18 will most likely be an updated version of 17 can't hurt to try something new.

PES kicks EA's @$$ every year, from a gameplay/depth POV.

EA kills them with the official licenses, which sadly for a lot/most people is where it starts and ends.

I hate to be "that guy" but this lack of info from EA regarding FIFA is pushing me more and more toward purchasing PES this year. I've always wanted to do PES but i'm such a creature of habit that I haven't made the jump. Maybe this will be the year

At least PES is a solid option to FIFA.
PES has been outshining EA with some nice changes gameplay-wise.

I feel FIFA has stagnated a bit these last 2 years or so.
I still miss the old Xbox 360/Ps3 era with team creator and all that. It let you create leagues in the game that otherwise was left out and put it into your Career-mode.
I mean you can customize your FIFA game a bit nowadays as well, but nothing quite like adding a local team or you own created super team gearing up to take on Juventus in Serie A.

It seems the German 3 liga now has been al but confirmed. Also added is the DFB Pokal, which is a very nice touch for those of us who like teams from other places than England.

It could be really fun to finally fan the flames of the St. Pauli - Hansa derby, now that is a rivalry!
Or to play out my dreams of bringing Hallescher FC, Prussia Münster, Wurzburger Kickers (Yes, that is a name!) to the Bundesliga and glory.. But is that enough?

Im not sure it can compete with what the PES has shown off so far.
