Professional: too easy - World Class: too hard

Is anyone else experiencing this same problem?

I'm playing with Hull City and I beat Man City 4-1 on Professional. Bump it up to World Class and lose 3-0 to Newcastle.

On Professional, the AI struggles to even get into attacking position against me but on World Class every team looks like Barca.

I was the same way for awhile. My suggestion is play on pro with whatever slider set you are using ( if you are using one) or default and just get the feel for it. Get the feel for how to score, pass the ball, defend, intercept the ball, etc. once you do that and start winning 5-0, 6-0, and just these really easy wins, bump it up. It will really help you get a grasp of everything.

I did this with OS Community Sliders and played on pro for a good few days and finally I was winning as Minnesota United against teams I shouldn’t like 6-0, 4-1 and so on. I finally bumped it up and now I can actually win a game and it’s actually a lot of fun instead getting beat silly.

There is a problem with the difficulties on this fifa , after pro comes world class then legendary , but the trick comes in now legendary is easier than worldclass ,just you need to do one tweak before playing legendary , when you are on squad battles when the controler appears saying choose sides go inside the settings , and change the defending method in there to legacy defending you will never lose again , no need to worry about defending ( press A on XboX or X on PS4 to take interrupt and defend ) all remains is attacking and it is up to your passing and shooting .

The difficulty is a joke on legendary i can beat any team and win any prize there is the first season ..never seen such a underachieving difficulty setting in a sports game !

I too am currently using Professional difficulty and the issue i have, and it's the same every FIFA, is the AI just cannot score to save their lives most of the time. I have some good games on that difficulty level (though may need to up to WC soon), with the AI creating good scoring chances, yet they can't seam to hit the target. The AI always seems to want to blast the ball from 6 yards out, like they deliberately dont want to score). I'm currently using lower lever players (Ligue2) so I don't know whether using top level players will make a difference - though it didn't in past FIFAs. I have games (10min halves) where the AI can have 15 shots, but only 4/5 on target and no goals. Even putting the CPU shot error to 0 seem to have little effect. I'm assuming its just hard coded into the easier difficulty levels. I guess it's easier to make the AI players not score their chances on easier levels than try and scale the intelligence and game skill of the whole team for different difficulty levels.

I was having the same "issue" with the difficulty earlier years in the past & the solution was for me to leave it on "Pro" but set all control settings to manual. It may be difficult at first until you get the feeling from auto shooting & passing BUT after some matches it will become much balanced vs cpu & it will feel much more rewarding. Plus you will score incredible goals because the game is more free

The problem isn't so much making things more difficult for the human player to score, more the fact the AI are so incompetent in front of goal. For me i have just got to the stage where i am begining to boss games quite easily on Pro, though not always scoring 4-5-6 goals, so i will soon make the move up to WC, but for me previously i was finding the AI on Pro quite a decent challenge. I would find myself outplayed from time to time, however the AI would just miss chance after chance after chance. Blasting one on ones with the keeper into row z, or 'simple' tap ins from 6 yards would go a foot wide. Obviously you don't want the AI to score every chance (they don't even hit the target so it's obviously a deliberate coded thing), but at times it's too far the other way on Pro.

First time ever, I’ve moved from world class to legendary. This Fifa is too easy.

I totally understand what you say about cpu cannot score on Pro but I insist that with manual controls you will have perfect balance & cpu WILL score. This is due to the fact that you will inevitably make more passing errors , your built up play will be less successful & you won't dominate the game in midfield. This will result in much more balanced game & in the end much more challenge& fun. You can give it a try

It shouldnt be about the human player, playing worse, or making it harder for them by using all manual controls. Its about the AI on Pro difficulty, which should be the default level with no stat boosts for either side, being able to score simple chances instead of hitting row z. If the AI is scoring 1 chance in 15, i shouldn't need to give it 30 chances to score 2 goals. Like i have mentioned before, maybe the AI is better if you play against the better sides with strikers with better Finishing stats, but using the lower league sides it feels cheap to come away with a win or a draw when the AI has had 15 shots with only 4 on target and no goals, most of which you would say are absolute sitters, yet they don't even hit the target. Even lowering the shot error slider seems to have little effect.
Obviously if you are destroying the AI 4/5/6 - nil quite often then you need to move up to WC, but if like me where I'm mostly winning by the odd goal in fairly even games then I'd appreciate the AI being able to take more of their chances rather than move up to WC where the stat boosts start to take effect.

I have started playing on world class and with some sliders taken from OS Community Slider. But one thing I have always noted in past all FIFA seasons is that even if I keep pass error to 100 still the CPU will always play driven passes with proper speed and there will be no misplace of passes. Unless my player makes interruptions otherwise CPU will always find their players. I have been decent enough to either lose 1-0 or draw games 0-0. Very few times I win games and that too 1-0. Also its just because I have kept shot error at around 55 otherwise I would have been defeated easily. Anyone here can help me with some slider tweaks specially in Length,Height and Width which could help me in creating chances coz CPU is always tight in defending and to lot of extent my defending is not quite up to pace specially with fast passes by CPU. If I play against any top teams I would definitely lose 5-0 or 6-0.

I don't really like to mess with too many sliders. I feel like over-editing sliders changes the basic functions of the game somewhat and stuff can get whacky.

What i did was started playing on World Class and just lowered the CPU Marking slider to 45. I've been getting some good games. The CPU offensive sliders were untouched so they are more aggressive and shots are more accurate then on Pro. Lowering the marking to 45 has opened up the field for me a little. I think on default World Class the CPU defense is a bit overpowered. Its like they defend from the start as if they're already down a goal.
