Re: Is this game worth buying?
What was the last edition of FIFA you played? IMO a lot of the old quirks exist. If you know FIFA this gen you know this game. That said, positioning, and players actually staying in position are a huge quality of life improvement that make it a big upgrade over 17 for me personally.Comment

Re: Is this game worth buying?
I think some of the posts are overly negative, but if you've played FIFA 16/17, 18 isn't going to feel terribly different on the pitch. For me, on the pitch, teams still feel mostly alike, though there are at least shades of improvement on this end. The computer still does weird things with your teammates that don't always make sense(the amount of times the cpu has pulled up in the box instead of going to the edge of the net for a tap in is infuriating). The career modes still lack overall depth, there's no real youth development, it's still somewhat random if you get a player who's stats match his position.
Some positives, the presentation on the pitch is much improved, the crowd is a massive improvement over previous installments and while not perfect, feels more alive than ever before. The presentation packages are also very pretty and nice looking, so much so in-fact that the generic overlay is.... severely lacking. There are finally more transfers this year in career mode, though still not quite the level they should be, and teams still make some perplexing signings, but sometimes it's easy to shrug off.
Overall, I enjoy the game about the same amount that I did nearly every other FIFA Game. I'll play it every night for about 3 weeks, then need about 4 weeks off to cool off because of something insanely stupid the computer does, haha.Support Local Sports

Re: Is this game worth buying?
I bought it on s Sale for like 39€, and I think its worth it. Its my first FIFA, I only play CMs - its what I love in Sports Games, wouldnt touch online vs. with a stick - and once I found the difficulty I am comfortable with, and tweaked it based on the Community sliders, it imho became pretty good close to awesome.
Ofc. it has a long List of flaws, and theres no xcuse for EA not addressing them . But for me, Manager CM is nicely done, and actual gameplay is good, so yeah, based on the fun I am having and the time I am playing it, well worth the buy .Comment

Re: Is this game worth buying?
FIFA World Cup 18 game should be out in the next couple of months (I heard tentative date for it sometime in March) and if you prefer international matches and World Cup more than club footie, I say wait for couple more months and grab the World Cup edition.Comment

Re: Is this game worth buying?
I have a love/hate relationship with this game. I think they did a lot of things right with this years addition, FUT is as fun as ever and adding Squad Battles & Daily/Weekly Challenges makes it even more enjoyable(getting coins is easier thanks to these additions so you can more easily build your dream squad). My problems with this game is more due to the CPU's defense, their ability to telegraph your passes and manage to out physical you for possession can be super annoying(it feels like they give you the strength of steve urkle sometimes, seriously). Also the commentating is just plain awful, I would suggest listening to music as you play instead.Comment

Re: Is this game worth buying?
Depends on what you're into. Career Mode has a ton of bugs, but it does every year and it's still fun for the most part. The bugs this year have impacted my play time more than any other year because the transfer system is so jacked up.
Gameplay is solid though and so are the graphics. If you really want to play soccer then 18 is a ton of fun, but managing your way around the career mode bugs is pretty annoying. I would probably prefer playing 17, but these graphics are really good.Comment
