Is anyone else frustrated with the transfer system this year? It has really turned me off from this game after I put in 500 hours each of the past 3 years to those games.
Here are some of my frustrations:
I signed Zlatan to a 1-year extension in spring 2018. In the 2018-2019 season I was never allowed to renegotiate because the game thought I had made a deal with him too recently. So he became a free agent after the 2019 season and I never had the chance to offer him another deal. I even waited until June 29 and tried to make him an offer and it wouldn't let me.
The computer controlled teams want double what a player's worth is in every deal, but they refuse to pay more than 20 million more than the player's worth for guys on my team. Maybe this has to do with the logic that says "Player X should be sold for between "120-185 million" because then I get offers for 90 million and they seem pathetic compared to what Fifa tells me I can make on that player.
I cannot stand only having one shot at negotiations. If you don't do it perfectly the 1st time you lose your chance to get that player for at least a year. I have to make save files every time before I make an offer for a player because of this and it's crazy. Do they think the Pogba deal that dragged out for months and months was sealed the very first time the clubs spoke? That is absurd.
Players and clubs are hardly ever flexible with their demands. It's such a fake negotiation system because players never budge on their demands and clubs tend to not budge from their original price a lot of times as well.
The new system looks great and it was fun the first 20 transfers I did, but honestly I prefer the old method over email. It was quicker and it was more consistent than this new approach that really just bogs down my desire to buy new players.
I have to be a massive club to have a shot at any players because everyone wants a stupid amount of money for every player. This somewhat reflects the real life transfer market, but there are also quality players that fall out of favor with a club like Memphis and Barkley who go for next to nothing in real life.
All of these problems were in the beta and myself along with many others mentioned them in the Beta feedback, but EA refuses to put any time into their career mode once they are past the Alpha stage of development and they never fix these massive bugs in the game. I have played less fifa this year than any other recent year because of these issues and it's a shame because I really enjoy the gameplay this year.
