It's not even surprising anymore that Career Mode is never touched.

I sold FIFA a long time ago. It’s been very clear they don’t care about Career Mode. For those looking for a great, in depth career style mode, I suggest taking a look at Football Manager for the PC.

I’m joyful with extreme cautiousness about the toning down of attacking AI and the defensive improvements... The lack of career mode attention is alarming tho, but I’ll take what I can get! It’s a start I guess! 😬

So annoying in career mode it forces you to sell your players - really not realistic - in a whole season in a whole league 3/4 players max in all 20 teams force a move and even then clubs can refuse - if they are under contract the game should make you sell anyone - not realistic and then even if they say they want to leave at end of contract  - money should talk. Offer more ito tempt them. Really annoying that key players that wouldn’t leave in real life force moves every transfer window. Super annoying if you want to keep your team realistic. Should be able to turn on a option to over ride and keep players - like trade override in NBA 2k

Add them to the loan list and deny any offers. They won't complain and won't force a sale.

So does "after the kickoff" mean the whole game or just immediately after the kickoff?  Anyone played a game to make any early judgements?  I haven't played in a month or two but I'm willing to dust 'er off.

It’s the entire game... They made the AI less agressive pushing the ball up field and made defenders more responsive... Midfield definitely has a better role in the game now.

Game plays much more realistically. Slower pace that requires knowledge of the game to be successful... at the higher levels. Awesome patch

I've noticed the same. Game plays slower and the CPU actually builds up plays. Don't worry, the online kiddos will complain and they'll speed up the game again.

Thanks to everyone who weighed in on this. I have been resisting the patches since 1.03 and I finally took the plunge.

This forum seems like it's been light on impressions this year (no dedicated impressions thread) so every bit helps.

I think an impressions thread would have been helpful for these situations. I am tempted to take on this new patch but also waiting to hear from the Community Slider testing group after they've been able to digest it.
