PS4 Version To Get

So I want to get FIFA but I am not real knowledgeable on players so I don't need the newest version.

Just curious if any of the older version on PS4 have a World Cup mode and if not what people would suggest is the best version to get for someone who just wants to play some video soccer but doesn't need the newest players or all the teams.

FIFA16 was my favourite, particularly the original out-of-the-box version, before EA, as usual, patched the life out of it.

On PS4 FIFA 16 was almost perfect. I had both the XBO and PS4 version but that game for whatever reason played perfect on PS4 and the controls on PS4 were the best ever in a FIFA game.

16 was awesome but 17 and 18 have been great too. I'd just get the newest one if i were you. Graphics get better and better and with 18 you get all of the World Cup stuff

The World Cup stuff might end up being the clincher. Unless something about 16 was so much better than the newer versions. I mean I know I can probably get 16 for about $5-8 and 18 is still minimum, $23 for PS4

The only other game with a WC mode is 14. I'd say just get 18.

15 or 16. Ive bought 18 and played it for like 5 hours total. For some reason its just no fun. The way they score against you seems like it pre determined or something. Why is this years no fun? Man, I used to love fifa a few years ago..

I wouldn't get a fifa game that's older than fifa16. Just my personal opinion:

Fifa16: Really good game, good AI & physics, plays a realistic soccer game especially after some tweaking with options and you can get it dirt cheap. Matches can get a bit repetitive after some time though and it's an older graphics engine. It's not that old, it looks just fine but 17 & 18 can look better and presentation has improved since then.

Fifa18: Better graphics and presentation and it has the world cup. Whether these things are important/enough is up to you, cause gameplay-wise it's one of my least favourite versions unfortunately. It's too fast and the AI too direct. A game that's all about speed and attacking. Maybe you won't even mind that though.

Fifa17: I skipped this one myself when it came out, and in fact picked it up earlier this week for a fiver. It's shocking how much better it plays than 18. It's slower than 18, defending is better and it's overall a more realistic game. Out of the 3 games player stats and team tactics seem to have the most impact on this one. Looks just as good as 18, both are on the frostbite engine.

If you really want the World Cup mode there's only one choice, otherwise I'd say get 17 or even 16 if price is important.

Get fifa 2002 for ps2 where you could add the curve with l2 r2. That was my favorite but graphics are outdated

I wondered the same thing, but ultimately chose 18. I am very happy with my decision. I am having a ton of fun with it. I haven’t played a FIFA game in probably 10 years, so I can’t really compare more recent FIFA titles to 18. But, if you really just want to enjoy some soccer and the World Cup stuff, I say, get FIFA 18.
