So Fifa 19 isn't to far off and the anticipation is killing me.. So I've done something I've done in the past, which is pick my new CM team way in advance with this method im going to explain ��
So this year I wanted to manage in one of these 4 different countries, for the first time ever.... Belgium, Turkey, Japan, Colombia or Mexico. Doing a 4 year club career, than using the national team appointment thing in the catalog after the 2022 world cup, where I will do a national team career on a world cup cycle, completely ignoring club & that will be basically my entire FIFA 19. Playing 4 club seasons & a world cup cycle.
So what i did was get a list of teams that appointed a new manager in 2018 from the said leagues above. There was about 8-10 teams from each league give or take.... so i then google random name selector and enter all those clubs, and then randomly select 3 teams...
So essentially its "like" these are the 3 job offers that I got.
Waasland (Belgium finished 10th)
& then oddly enough I got two rivals
Atletico Nacional Medellin (the most historic colombian team, with 2 copa libertadores & 22 domestic trophies)
Independiente Medellín (essentially the Atleti of Medellin, successful in their own right but never will be Nacional.)
Now after you get your 3 teams, your jobs is to research those 3 teams history and roster and make your selection...
So Waasland was out... It was down to
A) Carry on tradition with Nacional, chase that 3rd Copa, joining a group of only 10 teams with 3 Libertadores title. Bringing in new youth, selling on to big European clubs, sigining as many national team members as possible, and only signing foreign players if it is a clear upgrade and no colombian could be brought in.
or
B) Carry on building what has been a pretty successful time for Independiente Medellín in recent years & chase that first Copa Libertadores for the club
& then I will finish the career with a Copa America & a world cup qualification & hopeful world cup run where we will try to
improve our technical & tactical approach to the game and try to reach new heights in the 2026 world cup. I think a Semi Final would be a first for Colombia, so those are the new heights we'd be trying to reach.
I chose A, I will be using Atletico Nacional. The Brazilian league won't be liscensed so I think i'm going to swap MLS & Brazilian league so the MLS teams will be in the Copa Libertadores (Copa LatAm). I'd rather be playing against the top Brazilian teams, some of the most historic clubs in the world, but the fake players ruin it, so i'll swap for MLS.
Copa Libertadores will feature teams from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Colombia & MLS.
