I updated MLS stadiums before starting a career mode, but when the updated rosters starting downloaded, I hit cancel (O on PS4) before hey could complete the download. There was an option to use "Current Squads" before starting and it worked.

I made sure to save after editing, and then load again before entering CM, just to be safe.

Yes I had asked the same thing and downloading the current roster overwriting your work on rosters and stadia. SO it is always wise to save your work to a specific file name and maybe safe it to another drive too just in case. But also a good point that when online the game will want to download the latest roster to start your CM; just "O" out of it and use either the initial roster or a currently loaded roster you made to get the rosters you want in your CM.

Bolton stadium is now University of Bolton Stadium, obviously can't fit all of that so I just left out stadium.

Also something noticed, FIFA has all of the sponsored stadiums renamed once you play a Uefa or Europa league which is a cool touch. Also it seems like you can't use generic stadiums in the competition as well which is unfortunate.

Bolton stadium is now University of Bolton Stadium, obviously can't fit all of that so I just left out stadium.

Also something noticed, FIFA has all of the sponsored stadiums renamed once you play a Uefa or Europa league which is a cool touch. Also it seems like you can't use generic stadiums in the competition as well which is unfortunate.

Updated OP for Bolton’s stadium, not sure what you meant by you can’t use generic stadiums in Champions League though?

I haven't tested it for all teams but I tried to play the CSKA and Madrid match in a Champions League Kick off match and CSKA's stadium defaulted to Anfield. What was weird was that the name I chose for their generic stadium "Arena CSKA" still showed up.

Almost certain in my Dortmund CM that I played Brugge away in a generic stadium.

Just started a CM after having redone *all* of the European stadiums and international team stadiums. So far so good.

Getting it done isn’t that bad - get a drink, put on some music, and hunker down for a few hours at a time. After awhile it’s done. But I can’t emphasize enough that you save your files in two places because realizing my work was deleted was an even bigger gaming gut-punch than picking the sad ending in Witcher 3.

Just started a CM after having redone *all* of the European stadiums and international team stadiums. So far so good.

Getting it done isn’t that bad - get a drink, put on some music, and hunker down for a few hours at a time. After awhile it’s done. But I can’t emphasize enough that you save your files in two places because realizing my work was deleted was an even bigger gaming gut-punch than picking the sad ending in Witcher 3.

Save your files, save a life.

I kinda wanted to cry when it happened. So many hours...gone.

This a great option. Shadows are a big problem with fifa. At wembley the sun and shadows make the game almost unplayable, same goes at newcastle and Bolton
So i picked stadium for Sheffield Wednesday that was open behind the camera. For stadium where i know the shadows are overely intrusive when sunny i change the weather.

lol same happened to me. I just finished editing the last remaining european league (Turkish) and proceeded to test out the career mode right after, only to get the rooster update.

But it only motivated me to do it again properly.

Is there a way on the PS4 to save the stadium edits once I'm done with everything? What if I wanna start a new career mode sometime next year and there's a rooster update beforehand? How often does EA publish rooster updates?

Again save the file you just edited. Don’t call it “ squads 1” or whatever the default name is. The updated ROSTER file shouldn’t overwrite your saved ROSTER file if you gave it a unique name.

The save/load squads does only affect team line-ups, but not stadium names.

THe stadium names are tied to the roster. So saving the roster file after stadium edits saves the edits

I find the way FIFA19 works frustrating. I edit stadium names for most leagues every year but I’ve lost all edits twice already in FIFA19. The automatic squad update when starting a new career seems to reset them. I get that I can save my squad and thus the stadiums but then I am stuck with the squads from the point in time when I edited the stadiums. Fifa18 allowed us to update stadiums and also the squad and nothing was lost as long as you started a career with custom squads. Any other workaround or is it a bug?? Annoying as the game is the best one yet!

Make your edits back out and go to your profile. THere you can save squads. Save as a new file calling it what you wish
