well the FIFA 19 demo gameplay is clearly better than the actual full release and one of the major reasons why is breakaway speed was there

now in the full release.. they have gone in the completely opposite direction and have made it almost impossible to get away from the AI defenders with pace no matter who you are.

this is super frustrating so far in PRO clubs where the computer AI is absolutely brutal going forward but they are fastest and recover like the best back line in the history of football if you ever get past them.. and they always make last second blocked shots because of it

any ways, here is a video of what the great FIFA 19 demo had and what FIFA 19 full release doesn't have

Please EA.. patch FIFA 19 pace behind defender AI to be like the demo... please

Madden 19 has had issues with this as well. I wonder if it's something in frostbite.

They have to fix the whole gameplay, going back to the roots.... how is soccer functioning, working, feeling, looking? watching video footages over and over for the dev-team...play soccer outside, to have a feel for a ball, a round ball, not a basketball though.

Then they have to think about adding FUT-Cards to career-mode or maybe add a fee of 10cent per match played like offering a career-mode SHARK-card.

A super-tip : arcade-gameplay 5 cent per match and simulation-gameplay 10 cent per match.

EA can contact me if they want to patent my idea

of course there is other things to fix but I would say this is the #1 issue with FIFA 19.. I'm getting use to it now and I'm sure EA made a decision to go this way. Like I said the FIFA 19 demo was great at showing difference pace in players... but in the full release any defender can catch any forward and the pace of player is a meaningless stat

I'm guessing maybe some people complained about this in the demo.. and to make it more competitive online. like I said i'm starting to get use to it but I still think it was awesome in the FIFA 19 demo. I don' get why they would do the exact opposite in the full release though. I basically think the FIFA 19 demo showed different pace in players and it was the best for any football game I ever played in that aspect. It seems so odd to me that they got rid of it for the full release

maybe this was a decision by EA for the FUT community to get users to use a wider variety of players since the pace stat is pretty much irrelevant now. That's the only reason I can think of on why EA chose to make this drastic change from the FIFA 19 demo build

I feel like people who say this don’t knock the ball out in front of them with the right stick. I have very little issue keeping defenders away. A ball over the top on a break, knock it out in front of you and go get it. They’ll catch up a bit when you have to knock the ball forward again, but I consistently outrun them with quick forwards. I play on World Class though. It’s probably an issue on Legendary because EA games are notorious for making games difficult via unfair advantages rather than improved AI logic/strategy or anything like that.

Yes I haven't been using that feature yet as much as I should so good input bud on the knock ball ahead of you

I also have being using the new L1 + fake shot speed burst that helps as well

I also play on world class against AI but I don't notice it as much as I do when playing online in various modes.. especially pro club. in pro clubs it's bad.. bc you can juice your guys pace up all the way.. and no matter what you do the defender AI will catch you.

I am actually seeing this as less of an issue now.

last night I seen several people in pro clubs breakaway from the last defender all of the sudden

so I am fine with this now. It's just a change in the gameplay i needed to get use to

I agree with this. It is very very very difficult to outsprint slower players in this game, compared to any other fifa. Overall defense speed is very high. At times i feel players are moving faster than the ball. The biggest issue is when playing against someone who puts on "high pressure" im trying to do quick passes and catch my opponent out of position and im just constantly passing to the defense. And of course everyone online on FUT uses high pressure.

Pace is fine and it's the same as it was in the demo and beta.

Or I should say, top end pace is fine; acceleration might require the tiniest of boosts.

But as things are now, you can definitely outpace defenders. Pace is much more realistic this year, and you have to use it as such. Players tire quicker over long distances than they did before, so you can't sprint half the length of the pitch like you could in FIFA 18 without being caught. It's one of the best changes in FIFA 19.

You just have to be more tactical about it. When there's space, you gotta use knock ons. If you do them correctly, the dribbler will sprint at just about his top off-the-ball pace, and you can stay in front of slower players.

It's more difficult this year to be sure but I still dust defenders with pacey forwards, so it can be done.

Use the right stick to knock the ball in front of you. It is imperative that people use it this year. You can no longer just out pace everyone with the ball at your feet. I cannot stress this enough. Use the right stick.

This is good. A few years ago folks complained that with the ball anyone faster than the defender would out pace him. Some will still blow by defenders with the ball but typically guys dribbling will not be faster than guys without unless they knock it forward to sprint, not dribble. Maybe we're zeroing in on some realism.
