Player sizes proportions
EA Has definitely done something to the player sizes compared to 18, which doesn't look right.
Firstly, players look disproportionally small in the context of the pitch size. Secondly, they look disproportionate in the perspective of the pitch width (near - far), where players on the far side look minuscule. In my opinion this is not only a visual issue but impacts gameplay too as space is bigger, which in turn contributes to less battles in midfield and induces too many long passes / through balls - especially on the wings.
That said, this issue is more apparent in certain cameras - like Classic. Although that is my preferred camera, I am now forced to play on either Default or Tele Broadcast, just to alleviate the above mentioned issue somewhat. The camera view which is closest to reality (size / proportions wise) is Broadcast, but that comes with its intrinsic problems, due to its angle - which is a nightmare if you play with manual controls.
My speculation is that FIFA have made the players smaller to generate a more PES-style flow, which easily bypasses the midfield and focuses on the final third of the pitch. My guess is that by doing this, they want to promote a more attacking style of football, but in my opinion this is at the detriment of realism.
I will play with the sliders - namely HEIGHT and LENGTH - hopefully that will alleviate this somewhat.
Meanwhile I would be also interested to see if others have noticed this issue and what you are doing to reduce it.
